  1. and despite getting some BaBIP luck on a weakly hit ball, he is still broken too. They have him in that crouch now, but if you notice he can't swing without starting to straighten out of it, the net result being his head is moving up as he is swinging. I really don't think that can work. They have to rework whatever they are trying to do with that approach change. They got desperate and brought him back from Toledo still half baked.
  2. It's the Hinch playbook - play for the tie on the road, the win at home. I'd normally agree but not with those batters scheduled.
  3. Hinch won't want to do it but Jake needs to move up in the order.
  4. beyond disgusting. Didn't even get Vierling to 3rd.
  5. this one still goes back to that sloppy 5th.
  6. stealing 3rd against the LHP would be a great play for Vierling.
  7. weak part of the lineup. Will Hinch play for the one at home to tie even though he usually doesn't.
  8. Lange continues to be broken - but escapes
  9. they're in a hurry to waste that comeback and 2nd time they gave away on out with the IF in. Tork makes that play if he's couple feet further back. But Jake is doing his best to save the day.
  10. they can't manage to string together any kind of winning streak. Pretty much because they still aren't a very ball club.
  11. playing the IF in there? Righhhhhht.
  12. but that's what makes him so endearing...
  13. Torkelson out of phase except on the one fly ball tonight. Hasn't looked for that 'hit me' breaking ball they keep throwing him on the 1st pitch.
  14. It doesn't make much difference to platoon hitters that can't hit pitching from either side....
  15. Same as it ever was.
  16. If Turnbull had been able to make himself tradeable before the deadline I would have been OK with them paying Lorenzen and moving Turnbull, but it was not to be....
  17. Probably as much for being a jerk about the hamburger
  18. Hunter had me peeved with him at the end. I believe he was hurt a lot worse when he went over the wall in Boston at the end of 2013 than anyone knew but he wouldn't admit it to anyone - net result he was real liability in the field all the next year. They won the division anyway but he remained a defensive liability.
  19. it is a little ironic. I think Biden has been a better president by almost every policy and effectiveness measure (esp on foriegn policy - odds are that Russians would be burning Ukrainian language school books in Kyiv right now if Obama were still in office). But you still wish there was a way to splice BIden the political species, and Obama the public persona, together.
