The impending death of Bally Sports

yeah it's a pain to reset the stuff you do want, but I clear out *everything* periodically, just out of principle. 😡 -

Not a solution at 3rd however. -
I thought the other interesting thing I didn't see any trace of in Alberta's reporting was any talk about *news gathering*. If he wants to be the trusted source, at least some of the effort has to be redirected into simply being a better news source. Licht may not believe it but despite that it may be true they spend too much time at 'level 11', I think MSNBC has done a better job as a news source than CNN. In recent years MSNBC has had people in the field like Richard Engel that are head and shoulders above CNN's staff.
-
I got through about half of this before the site threw me out for some reason, but the conclusion from what I did read is that Licht is mostly an incompetent programmer - he may have an idea of where he wants to get but functionally he has no clue what a news organization needs, either leadership nor programming wise, to get there. On the negative side he knows what he doesn't want but on the positve side his ideas for what to do have been failures.

I get to my account info via https://www.att.com/log-in/ does that take you to DirectTV? -
I think he has this about right. He's basically a fly ball pitcher whose fly balls go too far too often. Maybe not quite enough life on the FB to get more pop-ups? His H/9 and BB/9 are good but the HR/9 stands out as not so good. The one thing Faedo has some room to work with is that if there is such a thing as throwing too many strikes, Faedo is probably the example. He walks so few maybe should be trying to work away from the middle of the plate more.

Indeed. The 'U' provides me with a bunch of free google storage but I could never use it for much when I had comcast service because it would take all day to actually upload a back-up or anything else large to it. Not only was the Comcast service asymmetric to start off, but then it would crush my upload even more as it went. -

yes and no. I get the 1 gig/sec from ATT - which is who I'm paying for bandwidth. OTOH, I pay DirectTV for content but they are not always capable of putting the data stream into the pipeline. And the kicker is it stalls as oftern on a 'recorded' program as a live one, because it doesn't actually make local recordings. 'Recording' something on a service like DirectTV just gives you a pointer into their stored program archives, so you are in the same position of being subject to server glitches whether the program is from a live programming stream or your 'library' because they are exactly the same thing system wise. Even on a very fast connection you learn quickly that it's the content providers, and sometimes your ISPs DNS service, that are where most of the lag comes from, not your HW service rate. -
Yup - I'm sure those millions of people working at the discounted labor rates that American business can only get away with to illegals are costing the US economy billions net/net. More RW fantasy logic. Only in American RW double-think are the exploited blamed as exploiters. Well, maybe also Putin's Russia.

well, for what that is info is worth. There are a lot of bottlenecks between the stream and you as the final user that will get you even if you have a lot of bandwidth. I have fiber to my house and a CAT7 hardwire from the router to the TV and Bally still stalls out fairly often due to "degraded network conditions", which really means their server is busy doing something else in the middle of my ball game. -

yes, they've been doing short inserts right into game play for both Ford and MGM Grand for at least a couple of years. Of course if you want precedent, they've done 10 second 'Station ID' cut-ins on the radio during game play since forever and those came with a short ad component as well- often for the local station built in with the read: e.g. "You're listening to Tiger baseball on WJR, AM760, the Great voice of the Great Lakes: Tune into J.P McCarthy mornings from 6-9" -

they did mess around a long time with Cade. I sort of thought when they announced surgery for him it was going to transpire that the diagnosis had changed to 'compartment syndrome' for which surgery is more common, and which is not always easy to tell apart - but the team press releases continued to say stress fractures. Maybe it was just healing too slow for their liking because it's more common to just leave that alone to heal by itself - esp since he wasn't going to be try and come back until next season anyway. Or maybe in folks that tall it needs more stabilization.... -
this kind of jujitsu is like taking candy from a baby with the GOP House because the Freedom Caucus is full of people who clearly never did their homework in school, and still don't today. Besides, reading stuff is 'woke'.
-
Disagree. While actually making cuts to entitlements is *general* election suicide, *talking* about them to the RW base is primary and RW fundraising gold and red meat for his legislative right flank. Thus McCarthy is doing everything he can to signal to the Freedom Caucus that entitlement cuts are at the top of his agenda, while I'm sure he has no real intention of ever seeing any happen on his watch. All of which could blow up in his face, but that's the tightrope he's decided he wants to walk.

LOL - Here is real context: Biden is the President. He had a Dem Congress for two years - how many SS/medicare/medicaid cuts did he propose? Can you count to zero? 'nuf said.

Not exactly - IIRC, Cade's stress fracture was in the TIbia. The Tibia bears 85-90% of your weight. Riley's injury is reportedly to the Fibula, relatively low weight bearing (5-15%). So treatment/rehab may be easier. But it depends a lot on how long he has been trying to work/play through it and possibly making it worse. -
IOW, another sociopath, making his own way at anyone else's expense.
-
c'mon Archie. In his 'victory' speech to his caucus after the vote he was crowing about the next step being to come back with another pass at social welfare benefits cuts/work requirements etc. That's exactly what he's talking about. Taking Biden out of context from years ago is just silliness. Those 'freezes', when offered, were a strategy to prevent cuts from occuring in social benefits *only*. Mostly by tying in defense and welfare spending together, the objective was to prevent defense supporting budget cutters from protecting it at the relative detriment of social welfare spending. The technique largely worked because it exposed that even the most ardent GOP bugget cutters had their own sacred cows they wouldn't sacrifice and thus there has never been a 'freeze' of more than a year here or there.

At least with it being FIb instead of Tib there will be less need for him to be competely off his feet. -

yeah - you could be 100% capable in every ordinary aspect of your life and still feel like you are drowning everytime you step in the batter's box for batting practice and can't see or get around on anything, which is one possiblity of where Austin is.
