  1. Honestly don't believe Skubal wants to be traded, just is more pissed off at the situation in general. But his words were cryptic, so it's hard to know for sure.
  2. Something we have to keep in mind with Tork is that he's still only 22 years old and, in the grand scheme of things, we can conclude from what we have seen that they rushed him too fast and, because of it, it may have impacted his growth as a hitter. I'll freely admit that, along with most of the fanbase, I thought he should make the Opening Day Roster, but clearly that wasn't the case. I do think he can be fixed though (like others, I don't have much trust in the org, but in general, his problems seem fixable), but if he's making mechanical changes to his swing, it stands to reason that it may take a little time and may not yield desired results 19 ABs after being sent down.
  3. Good for him.... glad to see that national interest is ahead of party politics for at least a few Rs on the CHIPS bill
  4. The other thing about Tork that we don't know, as to his AAA assignment specifically, is whether he's working on his swing mechanics based on some of the comments made by AJ as to why he was sent down in the first place. Of course, that had been a frequent discussion on this board prior to his demotion. If he is, it wouldn't exactly be surprising if there were struggles early on.... but the results obviously need to surface in the long run regardless.
  5. Per BA, all are now signed except for Conover
  6. I guess I would clarify to say that I am concerned about Tork to the extent that he had to be sent down in the first place. But 19 ABs since he's been in Toledo is a really small sample size and, as to his performance in AAA so far, my level of concern is unchanged at this point.
  7. The caveat with Faedo is that he was coming off TJ (which may factor a little bit into his performance / metrics) and likely wouldn't have been leveraged as much as he was by the big club if it weren't for the raft of injuries that that the Tigers rotation faced early on. Having said that, now having to go under for hip surgery on top of coming off TJ, while fading fast in the last few starts, he's kind of in the same boat as a Kyle Funkhouser where it's easy to see him being lapped by other folks within the system, others coming back off injury (ie. Turnbull) or, less likely, possible free agent acquisitions in the future whenever the day comes when he could theoretically come back.
  8. Biden will be speaking about the reconciliation bill today, so one would hope that they are close to where they need to be for passage.
  9. Gallo is on a one year deal. Maybe if the Yankees wanted a team to assume most/all of his salary for 2022 and that sweetened the return you'd get back in a reliever deal it would make sense, but outside of that, it would be pretty pointless to take him on. It seems likelier they just DFA him after the deadline, but maybe I'm wrong.
  10. My post wasn't necessarily a joke.... his comments, particularly mentioning the fans, suggest to me that he's pretty pissed off and doesn't want to be traded. Which puts him at odds with the front office who, at a minimum, hasn't ruled it out. Goes back to what 1776 said yesterday... the fact that we are even talking about needing to trade Skubal because of lack of depth in other areas is a global failure for the General Manager.
  11. Meadows is still in Erie? He probably just struggled with the adjustment from High A to AA and has worked through it. Which is really an encouraging sign considering where he was a year ago
  12. Should be noted that May was his bump up to from High A to AA.
  13. Solid return for the Royals, who badly need pitching in their system
  14. Maybe he was a fan of "Fire Avila Night" lol
  15. Important context: Some are now suggesting that Manchin's last time pulling off this bill was a means to get Rs to give up the CHIPS hostage. If they get it passed, it's one of those rare cases of them actually outmaneuvering the Turtle.
  16. No Chafin in Toronto, to be replaced by Bryan Garcia
  17. That's an absolutely brutal loss for the Padres.... brutal
  18. He'll be fine.... that inning isn't on him.
  19. It's an interesting question. I would hold onto him, but he could be a commodity perhaps.
