  2. Trump regarded Ukrainian sovereignty so much that he blackmailed Ukraine's current leader with the same Javelins that are currently being used to defend Ukrainian sovereignty. So its safe to say that Trump wouldn't have done shit here.
  3. His age has saved him some... for all his troubles, he's still only 22. But yeah, he needs to turn it around starting now.
  4. Nothing says "liberation" like veiled threats of military tribunals for anyone who doesn't evacuate
  5. It's a general statement, not meant to be backed by evidence, that encapsulates how difficult it is to hit Biden on this when what the administration is doing (ie. Supplying weapons to Ukraine while staying out of the war) is where 80+% of the population is on this question. That's the frustrating thing to me... I will say that criticisms about, say, not providing MiGs seem fair to me. Even if one disagrees or thinks that it risks a wider conflict. Just saying "Biden is weak because, of course, Biden is weak" is... a pretty weak argument.
  6. Nice to see Parker Meadows have some success!
  7. Looks like Robbie is in mid-season form!
  8. Yeah, I would have kept him around at least for another outing.
  9. With Pineda and Peralta both dealing with visa issues, makes for some interesting decisions on opening day pitching-wise.
  10. Sound familiar, folks?
  11. No shit. The Russian way of war existed long before Biden was even born, let alone became President.
  12. It was the first time I've had a look at him in game action (didn't have the MiLB package last year)... his slider is better than I realized
  13. Smoked Brieske looking like that long elusive late round diamond in the rough for this front office
  14. Ehh, I don't have the numbers in front of me but I would have to imagine the White Sox will be running away with the division regardless
  15. The plot thickens with the other remaining SS... landing Story would probably take some of the sting away for Yankee fans
  16. I think it's fair to say that Rangers signings of both Seager and Semien seem like significant overpays, although the market was different pre vs post lockout, so idk. I do think Seager getting drunken sailor money and years may have recalibrated Correa's expectations in a way that ran counter to the market... at the end of the day, in order to get Lindor money/years, someone has to be willing to give out Lindor money/years. And that team doesn't appear to exist at the moment
  17. Reportedly 10 years, somewhere between $275/ $300 million dollars iirc For as much scorn as Chris I has gotten (some deservedly), it is kinda telling that no one else stepped up to the plate and offered him anything like that length-wise. Maybe the concerns on his health/durability are more of an issue than we realize?
  18. He has opt outs after both 2022 and 2023... It's a great deal for both Correa and the Twins... he gets a chance to reset the market after he opts out after this upcoming season. Twins get a guy who can maybe help them compete or, if they aren't competitive, would bring back a haul at the trade deadline. The only real losers here are the Yankees, who essentially took on Josh Donaldson's contract to allow the Twins to sign the guy that their entire fanbase has been clamoring for them to sign.
  19. Exactly. 2021 was a fun year, but on the pitching side, they had to be creative at times in order just to get through nine innings. Injuries happen and there will be times where things are more lean, but am hopeful that will be less of an issue in 2022.
  20. This season, probably not much if at all... I do think it's reasonable to expect him back in some form next year. Overall, my point is just that the Tigers are gonna need to cover 25-30 starts at the back end of the rotation on account if not having him, and adding Pineda to the mix is a relatively low cost proposition to add depth in order to cover some of that loss.
  21. Another way to look at it is that, with Turnbull due back sometime late year/next year, the Tigers have to cover somewhere around 25-30 starts with some combination of their depth... having Pineda around, even with the injury risk, gives you a solid option to cover some (or possibly even most) of that load. For the terms ($5 mil+ incentives), it's seems low risk/high reward for them.
  22. My guess is that he slots in as a 4th starter (behind Skubal, before Manning) when the Tigers ultimately make that call. But that's up to Al/AJ lol
