  1. The scary part is...Lange was trying to throw strikes!
  2. How much longer before Tiger GDTs games go by the month, like the Red Wings, instead of game by game? Rebuilding since 1984....
  3. Hinch's use of his bullpen is criminal.
  4. Correct. Its well known that rookie CBs struggle their first year. And they usually don't get calls from the referees. But the Lions coaching staff know this and they usually ease rookies into the fold. I think our secondary will be a strength by years end, headed into the playoffs. Can you imagine how good this team can be if we have a top 5 defense? Let's go!!
  5. Be patient. He's still young. Give him 5 more years before you judge him. 😆😆
  6. We're not allowed to be critical of Tork here, he has relatives monitoring this site and you will be called out for calling him a useless bust...🤣🤣
  7. But I agree Avila didn't get much for the All Stars he was forced to trade. Don't forget, he was told to cut payroll so he really had no choice. Did other teams know this? If so, I could see the lowered offers. But just wait until Franklin Perez comes back and wins back to back Cy Young awards. We'll wish we still had Avila........naw....🤣
  8. This! Keep looking for hitting coaches until we find coaches like we have pitching coaches. Pitchers supposedly want to come here because our coaches revive their careers. Find some hitting coaches like that!
  9. Not at Comerica. Apparently, according to him, a 425' drive would be out of the park in Toledo. Comerica is in his head....lol
  10. I'm not a GM...i can't offer trades, know who's available or know farm systems. I'm just very, very underwhelmed at the Tigers off-season moves. Like I said, I have no idea if Harris is under instructions to keep payroll down or not.
  11. With our luck? I could see it. But I don't see the Tigers affording him. Chris really needs another billion.
  12. He's going to be a good one for the next 10+ years. I hope he leaves our division...lol
  13. Without sounding like a weirdo conspiracy theorist....that's what they want you to think. 😆 Ohtani was out there. The Tigers didn't even attempt to ask about him. Also, Shota Imanaga for the Cubs is totally dominating. Didn't even try for him. I'm sure there were also several other players out there that could have helped our very weak offense. We got Canha...a good player but somewhat limited in his abilities. If the Tigers had one or two more established hitters,we very well could be closer to first place than last place. We wasted some very good early season pitching...
  14. It's funny but in 2012, we went to a world series. It seems like a very long time ago...
  15. Exactly. Is he looking at making the most money he can or fielding a winning baseball team? Does he even care? I don't get the impression that he does. That gets me around to Harris...is he being instructed to keep the payroll as low as possible? If he took the job by promising to make Chris even more rich, I can see where he just goes along with a subpar lineup.
  16. First, throw enough money at him and he would be here. Second, the Tigers weren't even in discussions to sign him.
  17. People said the same thing about Canha just a few weeks ago. My corner outfielders are sluggers who drive the ball on a consistent basis. Perez has had a nice start to his career but wasn't expected to be up here doing so well. Hopefully he keeps it up, we need all the offense we can get. And while some fans question the moves Harris didn't make, nobody knows what he was allowed to spend. Talking about payroll? Illitch is a multi-billionaire. Fans act like it's their money. So what if the Tigers just break even, or even lose a bit of money? Would Chris rather have "he wanted to win bady" on his tombstone or..."he made a lot of money"?
  18. The BP is being overworked because our SP have to try to be perfect. It's very, very common in baseball. A weak offense put tons of pressure on the pitching staff.
  19. How much better would the Tigers be with Ohtani? Never had a chance at him because he was way too expensive? Yeah, we wouldn't just be a Central division contender, we would be a AL contender. Crazy talk, huh?
  20. Nobody. Why spend any money when suckers....err...fans will pay to see an inferior product? Just throw some more "alternate" jerseys and hats at the suckers...err...fans and pocket the money.
  21. OK. But that doesn't change the fact that he's a 36 year old on the downside of his career. People who are into stats know there's a curve where there's an age drop-off. It's pretty foreseeable. And like I've said, he would be an excellent pickup to fill in a roster on a contender...as someone you can build around? Yeah, not so much.
  22. So many All Stars...wow. impressive. I'm surprised we ever lose a game. 😅😅 But seriously, Flaherty has surprised me. I wish we had coaches that improved hitters as much as our coaches help pitchers...
  23. They didn't do enough. Last two seasons, Tiger fans were all excited by the fact that Miggys huge contract was coming off the books and we could go out and get some quality players. This season, we hear that we need to evaluate what we have in the young players before we can spend. Next year it will be more of the same with a young 3rd baseman possibly coming up and some fresh arms possibly coming up. So our payroll is half of what it was when we contended, did they lower ticket prices? Lip service and excuses only work for so long when other teams rebuild and pass you by. What will Tiger management say next season when the White Sox pass us? It's all Al Avila's fault?
  24. It was pure Tiger management lip service. Just like the Tiger employees in the booth have an excuse for every Tiger player who stinks in a game. A hangnail, blister, bad hop, bad umpires...it gets real old real fast. These clowns are TIGER EMPLOYEES.
