  1. I don't know the Yankees that well but I'm not sure why he used a starting pitcher who hadn't pitched in 30+ days. Yankees blew it.
  2. He ambushed that relief pitcher. How exciting....
  3. Yeah, there was already runners on 2nd and 3rd because of the LFer throwing the ball from the stands. But I agree with you, that pitcher hadn't pitched in a month.
  4. Game 1 of the 2024 World Series was well worth the wait. Great game!!
  5. Kirk Gibson....move over. There's a new LA legend...Freddie Freeman!!
  6. A nice collage of the SOL getting screwed;
  7. Flaherty's price tag goes up with every inning he shuts the Yankees out. 😆
  8. With legal gambling across the country, missing penalties like this can't happen. If they need to get a message from upstairs, or whatever, they need to find a way not to miss these obvious calls. Its just another example of a play that gives the NFL a black eye. It really puts the league's credibility into question.
  9. As Lions fans, we know the feeling. And it's kinda funny when it happens to other teams, especially teams in our division.
  10. Campbell has been in that same situation several times and trusts his players enough to throw for a 1st down and win the game on offense. McVay refused to go for any TDs in last year's playoff game on 4th down. I think they were in the red zone 4 times with no touchdowns? Dan Campbell would never be that afraid, play not to lose instead of to win. McVay is the most over-rated coach in the NFL.
  11. McVay is way too conservative. He plays not to lose instead of calling plays to win. The Rams need one more 1st down to run out the clock but he'll allow the Vikings to have another possession.
  12. Well, shots on goal mean much less than quality scoring chances. Having excellent goaltending even it out, I guess. But I agree, there are times when it looks like we're on an extended penalty kill.
  13. I'll never complain about a win but getting outshot 2 to 1 is a bit concerning. Nice win....Kane is a sniper.
  14. Hopefully, some team thinks they can fix him and offers up something good, IF Harris decides to move him.
  15. I'm surprised they didn't bring him up to showcase him. Maybe the playoff race didn't allow it. It wouldn't surprise me if he's moved. Most teams are looking for pitching, even projects.
  16. Same with Manning. His days in Detroit appear over. Harris doesn't seem like a GM who makes many trades. Maybe with the Tigers talent improving, he'll make some waves in the trade department. I don't think he'll take on any established (and expensive) players though. I wouldn't be against trading Tork and putting Keith at 1st base. I guess I'm not too impressed with the defense Keith provides at 2nd base. His range seems limited, especially going to his right, up the middle.
  17. Did Stafford get hurt in that game? Shaun Hill almost won the game for us. And Megatron was a beast!!
  18. That was a typical SOL team. Recover an onside kick with less than 20 seconds left and then score a TD. I'm just surprised we kicked the XP to tie it. Go for 2 and win it! 😆
  19. November here is looking like decent weather, so far. Trees in my area are still green. I'll be raking leaves into December, just like the last few years. But yeah, the optics are kinda crazy.
  20. The Lions have SO many weapons on offense, even without Jaymo. I'm telling you, we'll be fine. Really hate to see any losses but we'll probably be losing 3 or 4 more games this season, even with Williams. The division games are key, win the home games and let the other teams beat each other up.
  21. Elevating Tim Patrick to #2 receiver? He's looked pretty good as a possession receiver and he made a few key blocks. The Lions will survive.
  22. Great game. The last 2 minutes of a 1 goal hockey game is as exciting as anything in all of sports. 10 shots on goal and a win? I'll take it!!
  23. Yeah, it's all because they need to accommodate TV. The huge money from the TV contracts is significant. Like you said, they need to schedule the time slots way in advance. I just don't like waiting so long between series. Of course, I feel the same way with the stupid 2 week wait for the Super Bowl.
  24. I'm sure people in NY and LA are happy to wait. 4 days off loses a lot of casual fans. I may tune it to watch and see how much 5 days off effects NY.
  25. It's all for TV scheduling. They don't need 4 days off. It should have started today, maybe tomorrow at the latest.
