  1. I's say yes if 75% of pitches thrown come from a RH pitcher. Not sure of the actual percentage. Chat says 75%/25%. I felt the imbalance gave them an edge last year.
  2. Howie had the glasses that gave him a little bit of the "Wild Thing" Ricky Vaughn look. Tigers seemed to have a lot of good arms in the 60s and 70s that had shortened careers.
  3. Random thoughts. With everyone getting healthy, keeping Javy in the line-up will be a challenge but he needs to be there. Can he pitch? Parker can be so dynamic on both sides but I still am not confident in his bat. Have we become too right handed. Almost two months in and no starter is out for the season and reinforcements are on their way. I miss pitching chaos though. Wish we did that opener stuff or piggy backed some starters. Hinch is the master of matchups. Not sure though if we will ever see our $15 million starter, forget his name. Did he actually injure himself or did his hip just start going bad. Seems like losses are harder to take this year. It's like the world is ending.
  4. It doesn't seem right somehow for the other team to be able to do that.
  5. We might be better off trading Jake
  6. I'm all in on Lou and Freehan. I consider Bill the position player MVP of 1968. Denny won but Bill had the most votes of the position players. Mickey brings up a lot of great memories for Tiger fans but he was an average pitcher who pitched a long time. His ERA+ was 104. Led the league in losses twice, wins once. Was consistently ignored in the Cy Young award earning votes in only 2 or 3 seasons. I can't name anyone in the hall who was more mediocre
  7. Pardon my randomness, Both the Cubs and the Tigers have been in the World Series 11 times and they played each other 4 times. There is a decent possibility it could be 12 and 5 this year.
  8. Too bad we won't be going back to Colorado. That high was much more even. The division has played 700 ball for 50 games - 35-15 and that includes the White Sox 5 - 5.
  9. Imagine the look on his face tonight when his replacement threw the ball into center.
  10. I am loving this. Riley's D, sending Ibanez, Torrez' grab to end the inning. Guardians losing. When will the Power Rankings show the Tigers as Number 1. What do they have to do aside from having the best record in baseball.
  11. I have never seen a catcher show so much disgust so quickly as on the Baez homer. Love to see him isolated on video
  12. The question is can he play tic-tac-toe.
  13. Erie and Grand Rapids are winning their divisions both with .600+ percentages, Lakeland is competing and has the best record in the Florida State League over the last 10 games. Toledo is the black sheep in the organization playing about .500 ball. What a time to be a Tiger fan.
  14. "Don Who?" as a Yankee fan once said, just before they were to lose a playoff series to the Tigers.
  15. Now wasn't that a lot more interesting that those double digit wins? Tigers have the best record in baseball now. When The Athletic does their power rankings, Tigs should be #1. But... what a division. The top 4 teams in the division are on a winning streak. Over the last 5 games for each of the top 4, there was only 1 loss. That's a combined 19-1 record, a .950 winning percentage. The top 3 teams have been playing a combined .800 ball over the last 10 games, going 24 - 6. Here's the weirdest anomaly. Guardians have a -14 run differential and should have a 17-20 record. The Tigers have a +84 differential and per the theory should be 28-11. The Guardians should be 10 games behind but they are only 3.
  16. Wonder if Hinch will use openers on occasion again. Evan an accomplished starter could benefit from going through the top of the order one less time.
  17. I'm in Chicago. That would explain it. A lot of Trump praise in the PSA
  18. Have these Kristi Noem self-deportation PSAs been coming up on everyone's feeds? Watching through MLB.com
  19. Out at second. The Tigers can't even do a wild pitch right today.
  20. So who is the 27th player? Hicklen or Keider
  21. Looking at Fangraphs starting pitcher stats, and going into today they have Mize at 65th with a .3 WAR. So, at this pace he will have 16 2/3 wins when he gets to 1 WAR
  22. Last three games Tigers have averaged 5 2/3 runs per game by the end of the third inning.
  23. Is that the bat boy pitching? he looks so young?
  24. Tigers were leading the majors with a 65 run differential. Now at 74. This is starting to get a little boring.
