  1. But personal and defensive is the red hat jam! 🤣
  2. Patricians have never had any interest in democracy. The very idea of sharing political power on an equal basis with Joe Sixpack is nauseating to them.
  3. At least they’re someplace that’s safe from journalistic interference by corporate overlords.
  4. Newsmax viewers are already in the bag. He’s giving the viewers talking points to talk their libtard relatives down from the ledge.
  5. I like this idea!
  6. Customer service is an early-stage business imperative. When a business is first starting up, it’s crucial they openly cater to the customer, and they make sure the customer knows that, in order to get a foothold in the market. Once a business reaches its mature and late stages, after having established themselves among the top names in its categories, and especially once it becomes either a market leader or part of a collusive group of market leadership, customer service gets mere lip service, while actually getting pushed way way down the priority list, receiving minimum expense and effort. For a business with easily identifiable customers, those who share PII when purchasing the product, only the biggest spenders get at least some level of true one-to-one customer service, usually the minimum amount needed to manage them through a crisis; in a business with an anonymous customer base, like consumer packaged goods, there is practically no customer service, no matter how much anyone spends on the product.
  7. Also happy to not have gotten swept in April. Not sure when that last happened. Probably 1984?
  8. I’m guessing they start out with odds based on some combination of recent and total history, and then apply AI to betting in progress from the jump to even the money bet on both sides. That’s how I imagine it, anyway.
  9. Except the odds are bastardized by the gambling company to keep betting even on both sides. They’re not true probabilities based on anything besides business imperatives.
  10. Then I apologize for misunderstanding your post.
  11. Just remember that after the 1984 Tigers went 35-5, they immediately went 4-8. Although I recommend you push out of your memory the fact that after May 22 of that year, the Yankees had a better record than the Tigers. 😉
  12. Yes, not in so many words.
  13. Are we great again yet? Is this the great again part?
  14. I couldn't give less of a **** about that.
  15. You're lucky to have lost.
  16. This guy is a Joe Blow content creator, but he does do a pretty fair job highlighting Javy's CF work in this sub-two-minute video.
  17. Sounds like you've made your peace with players fixing games, and that's OK for you, I'm not criticizing you for it. Everybody is free to consume baseball in any way they like. But speaking only for myself, I can never and will never accept that. If players fix games and Baseball accepts, encourages, or promotes that, then I'm out. I love baseball for the competition, and fixing games is not competition. It's theater. If that makes me a sucker and a loser, then I'm proud of that.
  18. They're definitely still in the game.
  19. I have nothing against the family. It's a critique of Fanduel for romancing the kid's mowing down our team that first inning by showing his family cheering every time he threw a strike or got the out. He's the other team's guy!
  20. Reinstating Rose would exponentially increase the encouragement and amp up the brazenness. Unless what you’re saying is that the encouragement of players and managers to throw games is already at its zenith due to Baseball’s partnership with gambling companies, and that reinstating Pete couldn’t possibly do anything more to add to that, with which I couldn’t disagree more.
  21. JAVY WITH THE SLAM! He is all the way BACK! Come on, Fanduel, let’s see the Blubaugh family in the stands now!
  22. Get Nido some oxygen after that sprint home on the sac fly!
  23. If we were to ever learn that players and managers were fixing plays and games and baseball knew about it, and either willingly turned a blind eye to it or even backchannel promoted it in order to make more gambling money, then yes, I would weep real tears as I turn my back on the major league game.
  24. College > high school as a tiebreaker.
