Brandon Johnson's already gonna throw a couple billion of my dollars at a new Bears stadium, so what's a couple billion more for a new Jerx Sox Parx?

I'm not sure they will want to play outside in Tampa in the middle of summer. I could see Nashville happening, though, perhaps as an audition for the White Sox to move there after the Dave Stewart group buys them from Reinsdorf.

My wife and I just happened to be at the Grimace game back in June, stopping by for a Mets game as we were driving through on the way back from a Long island weekend. I guess Grimace had thrown out the first pitch, which we missed, but it was a Mets blowout from the word go, so everyone was in a party mood right away. They kept showing Grimace in different parts of the ballpark during inning breaks and people were going nuts, and of course, this was the beginning of a long winning streak for them, which sealed the deal. It's a toss-up as to what's the more popular meme in Queens: Grimace, or OMG.

Jose Altuve, Houston’s cheating answer to Barry Bonds, has made it sternly clear that he expects the Astros to keep Bregman in the fold.

Well, it’s become as clear as can be that if you’re voting for Trump, you’re voting for the fascism, because once the dementia takes him out for good, all you’re going to be left with is the J.D. Vances and the Stephen Millers and the Michael Flynns and the Heritage Foundation, and none of those guys are any fun at rallies.

The other thing is that she sat half a head shorter than Baier. This is not the first time I noticed this happening—she sat much shorter than Tim Walz and the journalist (I forget who) in the first joint interview they did together, and she also appeared much shorter in the chair than Colbert on his show. I acknowledge the idea is roundly pooh-poohed here, but I believe the optics of that makes her look puny and weak, almost like a supplicant (as women culturally have been to men since time immemorial). I don’t understand why the campaign hasn’t quickly identify and fix this problem, but if she’s president and has a meeting with Putin, she had better not be seen sitting half a head shorter than he.

Right at the 2:00 mark, after he mumbled, “Ashley Babbitt died, nobody died …”, one of the women in the crowd shot did a head-snapping double-take. That head snap is the sound of a vote lost.

I wonder whetehr she’s going to play Ave Maria at any of those?
-
Oh my god, no. Please, god, let there be a non-gambling-oriented stream made available.

This is a really good three-tweet reply to this here tweet.

Honestly, I think a good chunk of the audience for the interview was MSNBC people tuning in to see how she was going to do, and that a high percentage of the normal Fox audience bailed to Newsmax for that period. I would think most MAGAs would have zero interest in hearing anything Kamala has to say no matter what channel she’s on.
-
This would be the greatest October surprise of all time if it’s true.
-
That’s because MAGA genuinely loves McDonalds.
-
There are no Trump coins going to any aftermarket. There is no aftermarket. It’s a money laundering scheme. Yeah, there will be stupid MAGA bozos who will get duped, and he’ll see that as a fun bonus, but it’s mainly a way for oligarchs and Saudi princes and tech bros and the like to funnel money to Trump completely anonymously. It’s more efficient than using suitcases.

Going after an established third baseman for a number of years is basically the Tigers admitting that they believe none of the internal options they have for future third basemen will be adequate enough, and I'm not sure they have reached that conclusion yet with Jace Jung. Maybe they have, but I think I would be surprised if they have already. No, I am not recommending foregoing Alex Bregman for Jace Jung.

I wouldn't mind seeing us take a run at Christian Walker. He can hit and draw a walk, is a gold glove defender, and has World Series experience. He's 34 next year so it probably won't take six solid years to sign him, but he might take 3/55 or 4/70 with team options tacked onto the end. He's from Pennsylvania so he probably won't have the same reticence to come to a city like Detroit that a sun belt or west coast kid might, although he may balk at playing in a ballpark perceived to be death to right-handed home run hitters.

Alonso has the same problem Yandy Diaz has: can't defend at first. If we move on from Tork, I believe we'll want a guy who can save our infielders as well as hit.
-
I'm not saying they wouldn't benefit from going after a guy like Bregman. They would, at least next year. Most teams would. I'm saying I'd be surprised if this version of the Tigers made that move. I'd also be surprised to see him leave Houston.
-
I see this and I think, this is the kind of sales pitch you get from preachers selling you the prosperity gospel. Which makes sense, because it's the exact same target audience.
-
I would be very surprised if we went for a guy in Bregman's class, which would probably necessitate something like a six-year commitment. We are not in the position where we can use one big guy to put us over the top, because we are just now starting to scale up the mountain. At the point we finish in first place with a seasoned team, meaning, not a team half of whose roster is rookies who played competitively in the minors earlier that season, then someone at the level of Bregman makes sense. Not before.

Maybe Detroit can suck my **** wasn't such a solid campaign message after all. EDIT: Posted before I saw you all debunk it.

Looks like you and I are the only ones not voting for Trump. And I'm not so sure about you. 😉

Does anyone know whether I missed a critical change to the Zillow app? I like it when I see an interesting house somewhere and I want to know what the house value is, and I would use the Zillow app for that. But when I tried to do that today I could access only properties that were for sale, for rent, or recently sold, and not any property I wanted to assess. Anyone know anything about this?

I normally wouldn’t think the Rays would play at a minor league stadium long term, given the low capacity and lack of big league amenities, but seeing how the A’s will willingly play at a minor league ballpark for at least the next three years, I guess it’s fully on the table.
