  1. I liked the hug of the base runners when he crossed home plate. Never seen that at a big league game before.
  2. Looks like Kenan’s mothership is getting in on the fact-checking game.
  3. He does use a preacher’s cadence, but it feels mailed-in to me. Not that it matters much since he’s going to be named Speaker either way.
  4. Buying time for Tyler Holton. A.J. definitely wants to win this game.
  5. I was just talking with a friend and we thought Hakeem is a lock for Speaker, but his oratorical style lacks something. He seems robotic to me, with limited vocal range and relatively fixed facial expressions.
  6. I think the chances we sign JV or Max is zero. Harris has a plan. I feel positive that signing gimpy over-40 players when your team haven’t played even .500 ball in eight years is not part of it. I doubt overpaying over-30 players, impact or not, is part of that plan either. If we had six positions and the majority of the rotation filled, maybe. But we’d have a hell of a time trying to talk most guys into coming to Detroit if they have other options.
  7. “McStinky” with a hit. He’s an ex-Cub who did not get a standing O when he stepped to the plate.
  8. So is my wife! And she never lets me forget it!
  9. Came in hot and stayed hot!
  10. I thought maybe you were implying she’s the Russian agent. Now I know you mean Flynn and Stone.
  11. Good old fashioned family values.
  12. Fun fact: OP has eight total posts and six of them are starting new threads.
  13. Who’s the woman?
  14. I'll go out on a limb and say there will not be a mass shooting at a polling place this year. I believe what I might be trying to say is, in 2016 nobody (except me and a few others) saw Trump coming. As far as vast majority of people were concerned, he was the charming "you're fired" guy on TV. People like celebrities, so much so that they'll vote for celebrities just for the entertainment factor. Eight years later we have a very different landscape. Everyone knows exactly what Trump is, and practically nobody is being accused of engaging in Alarmist Non-sense for expressing fears that he will usher in a minority-rule fascist state that will do away with elections once he and his coalition of neo-Nazis and christofascists are in power. I was eight years too early when I said that a Trump nomination would be a gift to the Democrats, and that people would be lining up at their polling places starting at one in the morning to make sure they don't lose the opportunity to vote against him. That wasn't going to happen in 2016; that's definitely going to happen in 2024. No one is apathetic about this election except the far fringes of the aggressively ignorant. It's true that Trump has his base and will still draw 70-ish million votes. But it's also true that the other side is way, way, way more motivated than ever to make sure their vote against Trump is counted, especially now that it is also a vote for Kamala. Assuming she doesn't shoot herself in the **** sometime in the next eleven weeks, she might win the national vote by eight figures, which no rigged Electoral College could overcome. I think it's more likely Trump dies or is incapacitated in the meantime than it is he simply beats Kamala Harris in a free-and-fair election at the ballot box. To your point, the biggest threat is that one of the blizzard of post-election lawsuits makes a beeline to the Supreme Court and they vote 5-4 to overturn the results and put Trump in the White House. If they do, though, that will be the literal end of democracy in this iteration of the United States, millions will take to the streets, the blood will flow, and I definitely do not mean leftists killing red hats, because that's not how it's going to happen since leftists aren't the ones with the guns.
  15. Possibly due to a bunch of time off.
  16. Not surprising. Baez is 100% emotion in everything he does on the field.
  17. Good. I hope she wins and each taxpayer in the state of Michigan has to give her a dime.
  18. They joined the European Union.
  19. Doesn’t scare me even a little bit, because it ain’t happening.
  20. Straight from the 2015 playbook. Fresh.
  21. I don’t know exactly how the Republicans are going to respond to the events of last night, what with the excellent roll call and everything, but if I had to guess, I’d guess they would say that Democrats just want to party while the world burns down around them, and only Trump can stop the burning. Something like that.
  22. And if Trump says no he's not, follow-up question would be, so you do support an immediate cease fire to prevent untold thousands more deaths in both Gaza and Israel, correct?
  23. Soon as the guy said that I was hoping he would give a nod to Ali and say, "I don't know what 'replicant' means, but if it's good, I'm it."
  24. Just like that, Hulk Hogan seems like a completely ancient relic.
