Has there ever been as big of a win-win trade in pro sports?

It's a 2020 special run. The pic doesn't really pick up the subtle sparkle finish, but she's in pretty good shape. A couple minor scratches that you have to be looking for to notice, but that's it.

At +55 the Lions have the 2nd best point differential in the NFC, behind only SF who is damn near lapping the field.

Don't even care if they lose next week now.

Yeah, I check them fairly regularly just for fun, and probably one out 10 trips are fruitful. I'm usually looking for stuff to flip, but I think I'm keeping this one.

Checked out a pawn shop during lunch yesterday and saw a black sparkle Squire Tele with dual humbuckers behind the counter. The clerk quoted me $176, so I asked to try it out. I immediately noticed that it had been smartly modded with Fender locking tuners, Graph Tech nut and string trees and an upgraded bridge. Played on it long enough to determine that it was solid, then bought it. When I got home, a quick check under the control plate revealed upgraded CTS pots and a Sprague Orange Drop cap, all well soldered with braided wiring. Seriously, the upgrades are worth almost as much as a stock version of this guitar, and whoever did the work knew what he was doing. The switch and pups appear to be stock, but it sounds pretty good, and for a sub-$200 guitar, I can justify upgrading them later. I love this thing.

Those numbers are much better than I'd have guessed, and I've been all in on re-signing Goff for a while now.

Turnbull is one of those dudes who is probably more valuable to the team he's already on than anything they could hope to get in return for him.

I don't think it will be Bally's call. I think Harris will give a name to Bally and they will rubber stamp it.

I'd add Brian Branch to that list, and if you're keeping Goff -- which I would -- I'm keeping St. Brown, too.

The first step of building a team from nothing is different from taking the final step to championship level. You use your draft picks in the draft when building because you need as much cost-effective talent as possible to build your core. Holmes has completed that step, as well as the second step of surrounding that core with quality depth. We're now at the final step where one or two great pieces can put your team over the top to be legitimate SB contenders. I'm not saying to go all Eff Them Picks, but eff some of them if it gets you a stud at an important position.

The Lions are absolutely in "win now" mode.
