That’s OK. I’m tired of these unreal games and as far as I’m concerned they could end right now, but we still have to play out the schedule I guess.

There’s still two more games. Sunday is an off day and then Monday and Tuesday the Tigers play the Rockies in Scottsdale. Then another off day, then the season begins in San Diego on Thursday.

I’m not a lip reader, but that one was pretty obvious… ha!

In today’s March 21 game at Lakeland against the Yankees Valdez is the starter and both the Tigers and Yankees have TV feeds and there’s a Tigers radio feed as well. Carpenter RF Torres DH Greene, R LF Keith 1B Dingler C McGonigle 3B McKinstry 2B Báez, J SS Meadows, P CF

The announcers are gushing about how well Max Clark handles the media. The Pirates minor league guys have allowed four runs with bad pitching and bad fielding contributing to it all. Still only one out in the top of the second the bases loaded. DP ends the inning.

At 7:30 PM EDT today, March 20,the Tigers and Pirates are playing their “futures” game against each other where the minor league prospects of each club face off. It’s on Peacock, but I’m not sure how you can access it from other sources like mlb.tv or whatever. All of these different entities carrying games is getting confusing for me.

In today’s March 20 game against the Phillies, it’s a 4–4 tie. It’s like déjà vu all over again.

Yeah, I understand your point. I love listening to Dan and anything less than him is a letdown.

Thank you so much for the clarification. It doesn’t affect me too much because I have both MLB TV and Peacock, but I’m glad it doesn’t affect others who follow the Tigers too severely. Looking things up on the Internet is a lot sketchier now than it used to be. There’s just a lot of bad information out there, so once again thanks.

I like that idea instead of the notion that the Tigers simply can’t afford to do TV broadcasts. Also, it means that we’ll see Dan Dickerson on TV a lot during March Madness which will be a “good thing” as Martha Stewart would say…

FYI - Skubal's final Spring outing is Friday March 20 against Philadelphia in Clearwater, Florida at 1:05 PM EDT. There will be a Phillies TV feed but no Tigers TV feed although the Tigers will have their own radio broadcast as usual on WXYT 1270. Then on March 26 in San Diego at 4:10 PM EDT he will start against the Padres in the first real game of the year. Genuine radio and TV coverage for our team will then commence.

Kevin is not on the “spring break out” roster exclusive for prospects - a game against the Pirates, which will be played March 20 at I think 7:30 PM EDT and I thought only on Peacock although the MLB app says you can watch it everywhere - so I think this is a way of saying that he has already made the regular season roster and that he is no longer a “prospect.”

I just checked my Peacock account and see they are exclusively covering both feeds of various contending teams almost every other day and these games will not be available through a local subscription service you are paying for or through mlb.tv. You will have to have a Peacock premium account. From what I can tell these games will be considered a national broadcast even though you will be receiving Jason and whomever he’s with that day. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this will affect Tigers fans only a few times a year. I could be wrong about this. But but when I do a search, that’s what I am being told. Maybe this is already been discussed, but it didn’t feel like combing through every post in this thread to see.

On today’s March 18 game against the Pirates on the road Mize is the starter and once again there’s no TV. I guess afterthought teams like the Tigers and the Pirates just can’t afford to do TV broadcasts for spring training - but at least there’s radio on WXYT 1270 AM. No lineups yet made available. I wonder if the Tigers will just field minor league position players or bring the real club to Bradenton… It’s a “night game“ beginning at 6:05 PM EDT.

Congratulations to the Venezuelan team beating the USA in the WBC. I wish Torres had performed better. He struck out in all three of his at bats.

Gleyber Torres is the starting second baseman for Venezuela against the USA tonight. So that’s where he’s been since I’ve sort of forgotten about him.

Bassett went 89 pitches in 5.1 innings so he wasn’t economical, but he went pretty deep for spring training.

JV give us up a HR with two outs in the fifth, so it was a decent day all things considered. Had a chance to stretch out his arm.

Verlander still out for the fifth inning after allowing no runs having struck out five and walked nobody. I guess he did challenge the ball that was turned into a strike so the tigers are going to let at least some of the pitchers make this decision this year.

Top of the third was another three up three down for JV with one strikeout. Pitch count at a little better than average 43 after 3

I just missed a ball that was overturned to become a strike for JV, but I was out of the room for a while and I don’t know who asked that it would be reviewed. If it were JV himself that would be instructive about the manner in which the tigers are going to do this stuff this year.

I don’t think the Tigers will score 13 runs today…
