Looks like I might be getting what I wanted, but I didn’t really want it. I should’ve hoped for Uma Thurman or something instead.

It would be interesting if this game went 16 or 17 innings and ended in some fluke play that was the equivalent of two winos fighting over a bottle of ripple in an alleyway. But I’m not really hoping for that. I don’t wish that upon either of these clubs. But it would be quite a spectacle.

It’s really neat how the Blue Jays can score runs and not strike out 17 times and just shrug it off.

Alejandro Kirk homers (5) on a fly ball to center field. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. scores. Bo Bichette scores. Can I care? Yes. Carefully though.

When the Blue Jays screwed the pooch and didn’t score in the top of the 2nd, then Hernandez hit that home run for the Dodgers in the bottom of the 2nd, I was really upset until I remembered I don’t actually have to care about this. The sense of freedom in not being obligated to care is a real delight.

He knows our team so well he’ll probably pitch complete game no hitters against us.

I guess Max is the Blue Jays starter for game three. I don’t particularly have anything against players that are traded away or leave through free agency, but I am resentful at the success they enjoy elsewhere and experience it as a betrayal, even though it’s not. So I am all for Max tonight although I don’t think I’ll watch the game and I’ll just probably peek in here and there.

It’s actually two boys playing on a tire swing and it was in the Boise mall for years and when new ownership took over they threw it away and some one saw it on the scrap heap at metal recycling facility and they knew the artist so they retrieved it and the artist repaired it and put it in the botanical garden. It was a beloved piece of public art that a lot of people recalled fondly from a more innocent time in our city’s past and it was kind of a big deal to reclaim it. Absentee ownership moves in all sorts of places and erases public memories, but this was one memory that in the end, and only by happenstance, was not erased.

That is totally awesome.

And suddenly the blue evil empire has a 1-0 lead.

When the Tigers get a double they do the bone saw, but when the Dodgers do one, they stick their arms up in the air and swivel their hips like a stripper.

I have enough skin in the game that if the Dodgers jump out to an early lead, I’ll probably bail like I did last night until I noticed that the score was tied and I started watching it again. I don’t care if Toronto wins so much as I want the Dodgers to lose.

I notice that there’s no discussion of the Michigan v. Michigan State game. Guess it’s not that big of a deal to people.

I didn’t know anything about the ads that are running on the World Series until I saw it. Ha!

My daughter who has lived in West Hollywood for the last five years is rooting for Toronto.

I don’t know where to put this so I’m putting it here. I hadn’t been to IHOP in a long time, but apparently the size of a coffee is now the size of an espresso. I don’t know if this is an effect of the tariffs or not. And I don’t know how much more of this “winning” or “getting my country back” I can take. But at least the coffee plantations in the upper peninsula that have been undercut by “cheap foreign coffee“ will be able to rise from the ruins and back to the greatness they once knew.

This is a really good all Idaho Pilsner that’s crisp and with a great finish. It makes me smile. My son is 50 years younger than me and he and his friends really like it and deride “old people’s beer” saying that IPAs taste like feet. I have neglected asking him how he knows feet taste bad.

I’ve been here 21 years and I still consider myself one of the new kids.
