In the second game of the series between the Cubs and the Brewers, they’re trading three run homers. What an idea, hitting a home run that counts for three runs, three whole runs. Wow that would be something. That’s like living in a dream world.

I can’t honestly blame DD specifically but we went from losing one World Series 4-1 to losing the next one 4–0. So there’s a pattern of sorts going on here.

I just dislike both teams - the Dodgers less so - but the part of me that is entirely petty and envious and resentful wants the Phillies to lose because I don’t want Dombrowski’s successes to be rubbed in our faces again.

Dodgers win, and Phillies screw the pooch failing in their comeback.

David Brown, who played the odd guy Todd Gregory in the show was one of my daughter‘s best friends in high school at Boise High. He was the class valedictorian and a real interesting guy. I spent a lot of time around him. I’m happy for whatever success he gains. He’s lately been in insurance ads with JK Simmons.

They have a history of missed opportunities, and great players that came and went. As a Tigers fan, relatively speaking, we have a vastly more extensive and storied history to draw upon for sustenance and they don’t. Comparatively speaking, for generations we have experienced cycles of manna from heaven, and wandering aimlessly in the desert. We have known heartbreak and deliverance, and they have known very little deliverance. So get why it’s important to them.

On the positive side, the Tigers struck out only 10 times tonight instead of what was it, 19 a while back?
