Bulls Believe Lonzo Ball Might Never Play Again Due to Injury, per Report

Quote

The Bulls privately believe that Lonzo Ball’s playing days are over due to lingering knee issues, according to 670 The Score’s Dan Bernstein. While co-hosting the Organizations Win Championships podcast, Bernstein reported that the team fears the worst in regard to the former lottery draft pick’s ailing left knee.

“The other thing I heard is even though publicly there has been an expression of guarded optimism regarding a future for Lonzo Ball,” Bernstein said. “And there’s a reason why for you’re pursuant to all kinds of union issues, why they haven’t asked for the salary exemption yet because they don’t want to send the message publicly that they’re done with him. They don’t think it’s likely that he ever plays again.”

serves them right for cheating to get him.

so to assemble this grand team, they were docked a second rounder for tampering with Ball, gave up a first rounder to san antonio for derozan, gave up multiple first rounders for vucevic, and gave a supermax contract to lavine, and all they got out of it was one win in the first round before losing 4 straight.

now theyre talking of dealing lavine to the blazers and breaking it up.

why dont you like it?

Cant manage timeouts or rotations.  Not a good X's and O's coach.  Completely and totally outclassed by Kidd in last years playoffs.  The Suns had the winning formula in the first two games.  When on offense isolate Luka.  In game 2 they scored something like 84 points when isolating Luka.  CP3 and Booker almost fell over laughing at the post game presser when someone asked about Luka's defense.  Kidd made defensive adjustments in game 3 and for the rest of the series Phoenix couldn't find a way to isolate Luka.  Game 6 they lose by 30+ game 7 they lose by 30+ at home, the game was over by the middle of the second quarter.  That is when he should have been fired.

His player development is also overrated.  He took over when Booker was in his 5th season.  His numbers were the same before and after Williams.  The Suns really made the jump after CP3 arrived.  Sort of like the Nick Nurse situation with Kawhi.  People giving the coach too much credit without providing enough context.

He also totally failed with Ayton.  At the end of the day it is on Ayton to improve.  But if you praise Williams for player development you have to ding him for his misses as well, and Ayton is one.  5 years in the league and he doesn't have a defined role.  Of course in a Williams offense bigs are mostly there to set screens for the high PnR, so get ready for that.  But the most egregious thing with Ayton is that Williams seems to openly dislike him.  Last summer Phoenix matched the Pacers max offer sheet and what happened?  Ayton didn't hear from Williams all summer.  The guy just signed a $130M contract and you don't blow a call into him for 4 months?

I think the religious stuff will also end up bothering me.  But that is a personal thing and really has nothing to do with his coaching.

There is more but whatever.
