Yes and Kris Draper has interacted with him as Seider’s agent. Seems that Lemieux never apologized. (See article below.) As I recall, after the hit, Lemieux made some crack along the lines of Draper should thank Lemieux for making him famous.

Not that it was my place to forgive him, but I never did. Maybe there is another side to him that none of us will ever know. Anyway, I feel terrible for his wife and kids. RIP.

I suppose a player can put on a personna as an athlete much like an actor playing a role. It can be the way of giving yourself permission to do the stuff you wouldn't in your 'regular' life.

I am sure psychologists could speculate as to whether the Bell Centre ceremony is somehow linked to the timing of his suicide. Did he see the accolades and feel that could never be topped? Did all the cheers and adulation still leave an empty feeling inside? Did he feel like a phony? Did it bring back flashbacks to his career?  I have no idea what goes on inside a suicidal man's head, but surely timing wasn't just a coincidence. The sad thing of course is that there were so many individuals on Monday who would have thrown as much support and resources to him as possible for months ahead if they had known he was suffering.
