SoCalTiger
Watching the Blue jays broadcast I hope Verling played right field and Carp stays at DH. Also Keith looks very stiff. Just waited for a slow grounder instead of charging and trying for the DP. Barely got the force out. Yes it's very very early but I am worried about the team defense. 1776
Baez singles! His BA rockets to an astronomical .080!
Tigermojo
Baez isn't swinging as violently today. Solid hit up the middle. He's keeping his head down on the ball finally.
1776
Javy is very much hoping that the phrase, law of averages, really does have meaning. He sure has invested heavily into it this spring.
Tenacious D
Not sure the value of all of the Baez bashing, unless it’s therapeutic for everyone. He is what he is—I think he’s trying, just has lost his ability to hit. Can’t blame him for accepting a guaranteed paycheck. And it’s not as if this front office signed him, so can’t rag on them. I cope/rationalize that this is a sunk cost. I doubt he makes it to the end of his contract, and maybe doesn’t even get through this year. I’m OK with that outcome. I think Harris/Hinch will cut bait, If necessary. Of course, with no clear heir apparent, it is everyone’s best interest that he can become serviceable. 1

If Kreider can go down to Toledo and OPS 800 for a month, then you start looking for Javy to get benched. Otherwise what's the point? 1776
Tigers take two today. Manning threw 63 pitches across four innings. As has been mentioned here before, Erie and Toledo are going to be fun to follow this season.

I think it's more frustrating because we just went through this with Miggy. Baez did make solid contact in all of his at bats today.
