True. But the bullpen has now blown its last 4 late leads.

They are 11th in bullpen K rate. Maybe this is some BABIP correction.

And they are playing utility guys out of position because they dont' have a real infield.

Throw enough stats up against the wall and maybe something will stick. Bottom line is wins and losses. And this team will struggle to get to .500.

Looking forward to Hinch talking about how the mistakes are unacceptable. This roster is just so limited...they have no levers to pull.

Why didn't he leave the RH pitcher in to face the leadoff RH hitter in the 8th? Or aren't we allowed to question the strategy of a genius?

The over under was 80.5 wins. That's basically what they are....the pivot comes if a few of these young hitters had a pulse.

Because AJ is such a great tinkerer.

AJ would use Hader in the 4th inning if he was on this team.

Their plan was to develop Meadows and Keith in the majors. Both guys have been horrendous in the majors and they already jettisoned one of them. They thought Tork would be able to stack late 2023 into a good 2024...it hasn't happened but they have to wait to see if he can turn it around.

Carpenter is good, Greene is an ascending player, Canha is a 35 year old professional hitter. The rest of the roster is spare parts or guys who are underachieving.

I'm not saying Hinch is some brilliant tactician but this is a mediocre team with a good pitching staff and bad offense. They have to develop players and will always be looking long term. They won't rush a guy from the minors to help a team floudering in May 2024 if it will hurt that player a year from now. It's excruciating that we have to deal with this product every year but they have a plan and are sticking to it. I'm not going to give them any credibility until I see more results. But they have been very honest about their process. It remains to be seen if it will amount to anything.
