Shame the Lions are on the road.  A Pistons-Lions double header might have actually tempted me to attend a live sporting event again.

I remember in my late teens doing a Michigan game at noon.  Oakland University soccer game at 5PM and a Pistons game at 7:30.

I would need 2 or 3 naps to do that today.

We did a Mud Hens’ Opening Day followed by a Walleye game last season.  It was great.  Weather was mild for the baseball game and a short walk from there to the hockey game.  I may have watched a Piston loss when we got home that night, can’t remember.

The On/Off numbers for this team are interesting.

On court number.  Only two players have a positive number.  Stewart at 3.3 and Fontecchio at 1.6.  Every other player is a negative number with Cade almost being positive at -0.8.

Sadly, a few guys have positive off numbers.  That means the team does better when they are on the bench.  Ivey at +1.6, THJ at +2.2, Duren at +1.8, and Holland at +0.5.

The combined numbers see a few more positive.  Stewart is the best at +10.1.  Fontecchio is #2 at +6.7.  Cade is +5.7.  Harris +2.6.  Beasley is exactly 0.0.

Now the bad, guys with negative numbers.  Duren is the worst at -9.3 followed by Holland at -9.  THJ is a close third at -7.3 with Ivey at -5.7.

Too bad Ivey put up a clunker.  He had been playing pretty well.  These games are going to happen though.

The Pistons are near the bottom of the league in turnovers.  It seems like either one of Cade or Ivey is always having a bad game with turnovers.  I know our bigs aren't great but I still think the biggest area of improvement for this team would come from a point guard who could help cut down on our turnovers and guard smaller quicker guards that Cade and Ivey just are not apt to defend.

4th win came January 15th last season.

Ivey & Cade are the 4th-ranked scoring backcourt

Pistons at 4-6, a tick away from 5-5 after an 0-4 start

Monty Williams really sucked.

He did suck but Cade and Ivey are also making the improvements from young players that you expect and that has helped a ton also.

Such a tough spot.  You need THJ on the court for his shooting.  But he can't guard Green on the other end at all.

This is where Cade and Ivey being are two best players really hurts us with neither really being a shooter that other teams fear.

Ivey ruined this game for me with that hero ball garbage down the stretch, killing like 3-4 possessions. Bickerstaff shouldn't have had him in the game at all tbh because he was clearly not feeling it.

Cade is quietly putting together a monster season. He's still not assertive enough in the 4th for my liking but his numbers across the board show clear growth in his game.
