CMRivdogs Posted Monday at 08:34 PM Posted Monday at 08:34 PM I don't ever want to hear anyone who supports these law makers to pretend to be "Christian" again. Quote 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 2 Quote

Motown Bombers Posted yesterday at 12:26 AM Posted yesterday at 12:26 AM Naturally I had to email John James and ask him if he got the Trump cologne to go along with his Trump phone, Trump watch, and Trump shoes. He could bundle them all as the big daddy kit. Quote

Oh man, this brings back quite a memory I had dealing with a federal agency as they were blaming us (AT&T competitor - always blame the network first!) for their video conferencing woes. Finally they added us to an all hands a few weeks later so we can experience it and check in real time. Around the 300 user mark a pop up came on stating 'you are about to reach the maximum number of participants for a standard team meeting, please utilize a view only conference if you expect to pass 300 people. They eventually got to about 1200 users before buffering started, network was running smooth. We spent the rest of the day getting chewed out and turned over all of our data. Late that evening the following troubleshooting call scheduled to start bright and early was cancelled, we never heard about issues related to large web conferences again. I can guarantee, AT&T's problem or not, about 15 people at AT&T had horrible days yesterday. Quote

I get what you're saying, having worked customer service (usually at the front end). Far too many Karen's or Donald's out there. Many more than 15 people have horrible days every day... Unfortunately the one's you are referring to happen to be the day's chosen few Quote
Tigermojo Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Am I overreacting or are a lot of people going to die because of USAID cuts, deportation to hostile regimes and cruel detainment facilities? Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I mean, kids are already dying in Africa because of USAID cuts. Quote
Tigermojo Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If democracy survives the next decade or two, could Trump be in the conversation with Hitler and Stalin? He's only getting started. Still 3.5 years of these psychos. Quote

CMRivdogs Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If the MAGA' s had any gonads they would explain this to us. But like TACO they are in reality Girly Men From today's JVL Quote Riddle me this: If the bill hurts Republican voters while adding $2.8 trillion to the national debt, why wouldn’t Republicans just spend more money and protect their constituents, too? If they’re willing to go $2.8 trillion into debt, why not spend the extra $930 billion, too, in order to keep their voters covered? The answer tells us something about the reality of the Republican party. Let’s start by explaining the reality. The BBB cuts $930 billion from Medicaid over the next decade. If you add those funds back into the bill, then no one relying on Medicaid loses their coverage and the debt increases from $2.8 trillion to $3.7 trillion. Is there a functional difference between $2.8 trillion and $3.7 trillion dollars of debt? The answer tells us something about the reality of the Republican party. Let’s start by explaining the reality. The BBB cuts $930 billion from Medicaid over the next decade. If you add those funds back into the bill, then no one relying on Medicaid loses their coverage and the debt increases from $2.8 trillion to $3.7 trillion. Is there a functional difference between $2.8 trillion and $3.7 trillion dollars of debt? I can’t think of one. We’re in la-la-land with these numbers as it is. At a moment of economic prosperity, the federal government should be coolingspending so that it has room to stimulate the economy if/when the next recession hits.¹ Instead, Trump and Republicans are going deeper into debt than the country has ever been. Why would it matter—just as a matter of politics—if that new record is $2.8 trillion or $3.7 trillion? I see two possible explanations. (1) After careful consideration and analysis, Republicans came to the conclusion that the extra $930 billion in spending would cause material harm to the macro economy. This is the simplest explanation and also the least likely to be true. If you’ll forgive me: It is not clear that any Republican legislators have read the bill, let alone done careful analysis of it. The other explanation isn’t simple. It requires some history and psychology. For at least three generations the GOP has been the Business party. Its voters were professionals, country-clubbers, and Chamber of Commerce types. But its foundation began shifting when the party adopted the Southern strategy in the 1970s. This started the process of grafting poor, less-educated whites onto a voting coalition that was, for the next half a century, still dominated by business interests.² The 2016 election was a tipping point where less-educated white voters took control by nominating Donald Trump. For a time, Republicans thought this was an accident, a one-off event. And because the old Republican party quickly made its peace with Trump, many of the people who had been longtime Republican movers and shakers continued to believe that they were in control. The elections of 2020 and 2024 confirmed that they were not. And yet, a sizable portion of elected Republicans hold onto a residual image of themselves as avatars of a green-eyeshade, business-first party that no longer exists. They’re like a middle-aged man standing in front of a mirror, sucking in his gut and smiling, imagining that he still looks pretty close to his college days. It’s a lie they tell themselves. https://www.thebulwark.com/p/republican-party-is-deluded-middle-aged-man-bbb-trump-congress?utm_source=substack&publication_id=87281&post_id=167229418&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=email-share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=false&r=45wcm&triedRedirect=true Quote

CMRivdogs Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago More from today's JVL piece. He nails it. Quote When millions of Trump voters lose their Medicaid, they aren’t going to blame Trump, either. They’ll blame Congress. And what does Donald Trump care if a bunch of Republican losers get tossed out of Congress? He has no use for congressional Republicans. He is an aspiring autocrat who rules by fiat. Passing legislation is not anywhere near his list of priorities. Whether or not the House and Senate are controlled by Republicans is of little importance to him. All of which is why Trump’s party is about to stab millions of Trump-loving Republican voters in the back instead of just throwing more money at the problem. Trump knows who he is, what he wants, and how to get it. His party, on the other hand, is a bunch of delusional sad sacks. Which is why he will win and they will lose. Again. Quote
