I was a little bit curious why Cash Kuiper left the game after 5 pitches for Lakeland last night. I was thinking arm injury, here we go again. I pulled up the video... and nope... He was pulled after barfing on the field.

sMax hit his 10th HR....he's having a great July. May be up soon

AI says getting called up August 14th would preserve his rookie status.

I missed the Tigers signed a big OF prospect from Germany? Decent chunk from their bonus pool, too.

That's definitely interesting.  $500K is a solid commitment for the INTL pool, but he seems intriguing.

Very interesting!!!

But here's the key paragraph to whether he has a chance in the USA:

"There is plenty of development ahead. European prospects often require time to adjust to the speed, pitching quality and daily demands of affiliated baseball."

He was already going to be a long way out as he's 17.  Even in 5 years, he would be 22.

I am less concerned about how long... I know it's not going to be a quick path for him...

My comment was more along the lines of:

Can he hit the curveball? Can he catch up to speed? Etc...

He may not have really faced that in Germany - I don't know - even though he's played against older athletes.

But those are the questions for every kid in the minors... so we'll see how he does. That's what I meant with that quote... we'll see, probably starting next year sometime, how he fares against American pitch speeds and breaking balls. If his hit tool and bat-to-ball and bat speed are all showing very high-end...

+ 1 for the Tigers scouting department!

Honestly kind of surprised he is still in Lakeland but maybe they are waiting for the draftees before moving him up.

He's really interesting, with more walks than k's, but catchers are notorious for being brought along slowly. It looks like he can really hit, though.

And since he was converted to catching after being drafted, it could be a longer process.

This.  They are probably waiting for his defense to catch up.  Having that type of offense in a catcher is worth the wait.

Kind of like Heinz ketchup

Espinal was part of a pretty large promotion chain today.

That must have been uploaded within the last couple of hours because I was expecting some movement today and checked earlier. Ramirez coming up to take the place of Rucker who is on the 7-Day IL. Kinda surprised De Los Santos didn't get called up but Ramirez had a pretty solid FCL as well.
