His hard hit rate has collapsed, but that’s probably he’s focusing on contact which is his highest rate ever. One of the reason for his surge has got to be his BABIP, which was .382 coming into today and, admit it, those two singles were seeing-eye at best. Which is fine, I’ll take the runs. If I had to guess and assess, I’d say his improvement is due to luck as a result of his hard work changing his approach.
