Tigermojo Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Have to keep an eye on Flaherty's velo. It was down last time. Could just be the gun because his opponent was a soft tosser. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 10 Posted May 10 FYI - Alex Cobb (hip) looked uncomfortable covering first base during a live batting practice session Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Quote

kdog Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Mize placed on the IL with a mild hamstring strain…Chase Lee recalled. Montero will fill his rotation spot. A.J. Hinch on Casey Mize: "In his last inning in Colorado, he felt a little sensation, a tweak. Everybody initially thought it was dehydration or something minor, but it turns out it's a mild strain. "In May, we're certainly going to be careful with that, but we expect it to be fine in a short period of time." Edited May 10 by kdog 2 Quote

I guess we need to use our depth. Hurry back, Cobb. Quote

Mize was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a hamstring strain, retroactive to May 9, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Mize pitched Thursday and dominated the Rockies, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts across six innings. However, per Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Mize felt a sensation in his hamstring late in the outing that was originally attributed to dehydration. The strain is considered mild — Per CBS News Quote

And the pitch clock doesn't allow a body to recover quick enough when fatigue sets in. And many people say that's when injuries happen, when a body is pushed too hard while fatigued. Quote

I hadn’t thought about the pitch clock and injuries or heard about it, but I have to admit it doesn’t seem like there’s much time between pitches and even though I don’t like long games 15 seconds seems a little short to me.
