We’re already there. You get two more wishes from the magic lamp and you wasted one.

Mize placed on the IL with a mild hamstring strain…Chase Lee recalled. Montero will fill his rotation spot.

A.J. Hinch on Casey Mize:

"In his last inning in Colorado, he felt a little sensation, a tweak. Everybody initially thought it was dehydration or something minor, but it turns out it's a mild strain.

"In May, we're certainly going to be careful with that, but we expect it to be fine in a short period of time."

Oh crap! This is why we can’t have nice things.

He felt a little tweak? Where? In his pitching arm/shoulder? I guess we need to use our depth. Hurry back, Cobb.

Mize was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a hamstring strain, retroactive to May 9, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Mize pitched Thursday and dominated the Rockies, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts across six innings. However, per Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Mize felt a sensation in his hamstring late in the outing that was originally attributed to dehydration. The strain is considered mild — Per CBS News

The human body is not made for the punishment some of these sports require players to endure. When we were caveman, we never took a rock and threw it with various degrees of spin and bodily contortion 90 times every five days.

Thanks...that really is a relief. Hamstrings are bad enough, but an arm injury could be devastating. He'll be fine in a couple/few weeks.

And the pitch clock doesn't allow a body to recover quick enough when fatigue sets in. And many people say that's when injuries happen, when a body is pushed too hard while fatigued.

I hadn’t thought about the pitch clock and injuries or heard about it, but I have to admit it doesn’t seem like there’s much time between pitches and even though I don’t like long games 15 seconds seems a little short to me.
