But that bottom of the 8th was one of the best Tiger relief performances of the season. Maybe Nido goes to the pen when Jake gets back. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Nido’s stuff really works. They “haven’t seen his stuff before.” Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 20 Posted May 20 The Tigers could score 9 runs in the 9th inning and Guenther would still get the loss. He gave up 1 run. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Four runs in the end. And Nido’s 45MPH pitching stymied them. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Cleveland-Twins suspended. 4th inning with Twins winning 2-1. They pick it up at that point? Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I’m not sure why throwing slow pitches is a good idea. Is it just that the hitters have to adjust for it and you hope they can’t? Anyway, this is what Hinch said: “Obviously, at that point, you're bringing some levity into the game, and he's going to throw it as slow as he can and see if he can slow the game down,” Hinch said. “No manager loves bringing a position player in in that spot. He did it right -- throw it as slow as you can and let him swing as hard as they can and get through the outing and get to the hotel.” Quote
romad1 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I have a challenge for AI. I just tried it with Google and it failed. On which calendar day each year do the Detroit Tigers have the most wins? In Google attempt it gave me "they have 31 wins this year, dudoy" Another attempt at the same question it gave me: "destruct, kill the huumaans!" Quote

ChatGPT Quote Determining the specific calendar day on which the Detroit Tigers have the most wins historically is challenging, as detailed records of wins by exact calendar dates are not readily available. However, we can glean some insights from notable seasons. For instance, during the 1984 season, the Tigers had an exceptional start, winning their first nine games and achieving a 35–5 record in their first 40 games. This remarkable performance suggests that late April was a particularly successful period for the team that year. In more recent history, the 2025 Tigers reached 19 wins before May 1st for the first time in franchise history, indicating a strong performance in April. While these examples highlight successful periods, without comprehensive data on each calendar day’s win totals throughout the franchise’s history, it’s not possible to definitively identify the single calendar day with the most wins. oblong Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I picked a good night to go hang out with a buddy. By the way... if you are like me, 51 years old, you probably have old friends that you are starting to only see at events like funerals. That's how it was with the guy who I've known since I was 10 years old, he was the best man at my wedding. Both still live locally and would see each other once every few years and give it the old "Yeah, let's hang out sometime...." In October of 2023 he reached out and we met up on a Monday night. Since then we've done that once a month. Before we leave for the night we pick our next date and put it on our calendars. We mark it down for Monday and Tuesday in case the Monday doesn't work. You just have to make the effort. Nothing crazy. We both get up early. Have a drink or two and a sandwich in a sports bar and relive the "good old days". 1 Quote

The 2025 Tigers would wear their sweaters around their hips and emerge from their German sports sedans with their tennis racquets with their bored, but stunning nordic blond girlfriends. When she locked eyes on Jake Rogers and that very defiant mustache she would know he was the One she should marry if only she could free herself of [insert name of player] and his family's money. 1 Quote
