sagnam
Momentum builds for cancellation of Bills-Bengals game This is the most sensible option in my opinion.
CMRivdogs
I agree. Both teams are in the playoffs. Bengals play the Ravens this weekend. One could argue the winner of that game should be awarded the Division. The Bills take on New England. I think Buffalo has the division title, may be playoff positioning for New England

RandyMarsh
Fox announced that they will be showing the Ram/Seahawks game at 4pm in the Detroit market so we'll be able to actually watch the game instead of just keeping tabs via twitter/scoreboard watching.
RandyMarsh
Man I couldn't imagine what's going through his mind even though it was a complete accident. I hope it's something that doesn't weigh on him forever and he gets over it as quickly as possible. BTW there has been "remarkable improvement" by Hamlin according to his team and that he appears to be "neurologically intact". I'm not sure what that last phrase means, like does it mean it appears that he appears to be safe from long term brain damage? but whatever it means it sounds promising. sagnam
NFL ponders playoff seeding without playing Bills-Bengals Another stupid suggestion of adding an 8th playoff team. That’s a path for the Lions to make it even if the Seahawks win.
djhutch
Why don't they just determine seeding based on win percentage?

MichiganCardinal
For a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with Hamlin or Bills/Bengals, I could absolutely see the NFL adding an 8th seed. They’d love Lions-Packers to be a play-in game on SNF. Assuming they did a straightforward 1v8/2v7/3v6/4v5 without bye weeks, it would also add two full playoff games of revenue. RandyMarsh
Sounds to me like the NFL is using the Bengals/Bills situation as a convenient excuse to add an 8th team and generate more playoff revenue cause there's no reason why there can't be another solution to the problem namely using winning percentage like mentioned above. sagnam
I see the issue with wining percentage. If the Bills got the #1 seed by not playing a division champion the Chiefs could be miffed. On the other hand if the Bills get #2 because they didn’t get a chance to beat the Bengals then they would likely have a complaint as well. Nobody is at fault for a player getting hurt so it’s not like you can blame anyone. This way no one in the AFC gets bye and the #1 seed loses some of its value. The NFC would need the same for balance. I’m biased and want the extra team, but neutral me says skip the game and leave the rest alone. buddha
rational me: if the bills refuse to play they forfeit. irrational me: lets make an 8th seed so the lions have a better chance to make it
MichiganCardinal
The Dolphins are quickly turning into the ranks of the Texans and Jaguars as far as dumb ownership goes. I'd scoop up Mike McDaniel in a heartbeat as an offensive analyst if the Dolphins let him go.

tiger2022
I think the Bengals may be the team that ends up getting screwed the most. I believe they were going to beat the Bills and probably crush the Ravens this week. I also think the Raiders have a good chance of beating the Chiefs on Saturday. The Bengals would have been the #1 seed. Instead they will probably get the #3 seed now because they can't get as many wins as the Bills or Chiefs now. Motor City Sonics
Rumors abound that if Miami loses and misses the playoffs that Mike McDaniel and the GM could be out. Keep an eye on that one, because that is where Harbaugh would go and he would probably get GM-type power. Remember Stephen Ross is a Michigan guy and has donated a ton to the school. Harb-Odds 1. Colts 2. Panthers 3. Broncos 4. Cardinals 5. Commanders if McDaniel is fired 1. Dolphins - By far. 2. Colts 3. Panthers Who cares after that. MichiganCardinal
The Dolphins would be incredibly stupid to fire Mike McDaniel, but I agree that if they do they will hire Harbaugh the next day (and probably violate the Rooney Rule). Motor City Sonics
Give me the Jags. Mostly to cement what an asshole Urban Meyer was but also to avoid an 8-9 in the playoffs.
MichiganCardinal
I don’t think Doug Pederson is that great. Captured lightning with that Super Bowl team and has been mediocre ever since.
