Jason_R Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Would love a Dallas upset tonight where Jerry runs down to the field after and gives himself a Gatorade shower. Quote

holygoat Posted September 5 Posted September 5 The Eagles are gonna dumb themselves into an L if they're not careful. Quote

No one knows what Jerry is doing in Dallas, but when they go 7-10 or worse, he’s going to be a very confused old man who still won’t fire himself. Jerry has actually been very slow to fire coaches in the past. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted September 5 Posted September 5 While I know my predictions in the other thread have Philly going 15-2 and being the 1-seed, it would not at all surprise me to see them implode this year, similar to how they did in 2023. Nick Sirianni is not a very good coach. He's been a distraction at times in his tenure and he's never given me the vibes of someone being capable of corralling all of those personalities in the Philly locker room. They're obviously extremely talented, but if things go wrong, they have a chance to snowball. Quote

It was Chiefs-49ers in 2023, when it should have/could have/would have been Chiefs-Lions. Two years ago the Eagles started 10-1, finished 1-5, and went out with a whimper in the Wild Card against the Bucs. Quote

I have completely blocked out a year of football due to disappointment apparently. 2 out of 3 years. I think my point remains the same. 1 Quote

The worst part of the rush push is that even if you stop them like the Cowboys did on the first attempt tonight, it’s such a messy play that it only takes one ref to give them the first down anyway. And Collingsworth will slobber all over the play. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Eagles weren't very intimidating tonight, but it's only week one. Curious if Carter gets a game or two off for the spitting. Quote
Hongbit Posted September 5 Posted September 5 One can only dream this is the year he gets caught on a hot mic and has his Nick Castrellanos drives one to left field moment. 1 Quote

Maybe out of gas with it being week one, or the delay, or maybe Dallas made all the right adjustments. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted September 5 Posted September 5 The NFL cracking down on taunting has me nervous. They want robots who show no emotion after making a huge play. 3rd down and 25? Here's a free 1st down. FanDuel gamblers running the NFL? Quote

He’s shown that he can be influenced by an opponent into making mental errors. I’d rather them crack down on taunting than celebrations. It’s at least a little less subjective. Quote
Shinzaki Posted September 5 Posted September 5 (edited) Celebrating is one thing...doing it in the face of an opposing player is another. On that taunting call against the Philly player who made the tackle..I dont think him flexing was the issue..the issue was he walked towards the downed player and flexed at/over him. Had he put his back to the play and did the same thing while walking away, it probably isnt going to be called Edited September 5 by Shinzaki 1 Quote

I remember a play from last year (or a year before?) when Jaymo dunked the ball over the goalposts after a TD in a tribute to Megatron. The team was penalized 15 yards on the kickoff. NFL...No Fun League Quote
sagnam Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Yeah. It’s a fine line I think. Celebration should be allowed, but involving the opposing player will lead to escalation. Sort of like the Josh Norman/Odell game years ago that kept escalating. Quote
