ESPN headline has us 12-2 (NFL best) in prime time since 2021.

Obviously one is the Brad Allen robbery.

What’s the other?

2021 Monday Night at Green Bay. I think it was the second game of the season.

I don't complain about calls that are so blatant. And if you talk to a Baltimore fan, they'll say the refs missed calls on the Lions, too.

Exactly.

I’m asking for accountability. When I see the Lions commit a penalty I want it called. Period. I want the same for them.

So why call the hands to the face/dacemask there? If they are going to selectively enforce the rules then there really should be a reasonable explanation of what they will and won’t call. For example that penalty had no impact of the play. The hold on Anzalone earlier in the game helped Lamar extend the play without pressure and complete a long 3rd down pass, keeping the drive alive and eventually score.

What I want to know is why the defender directly in front of the referee whose job it is to watch for that hold decided not to call a hold that turned the player sideways. That’s all. Why call one penalty to kill a drive and ignore another?

I’ll die on the hill of every, “not completing the catch” ruling after Calvin Johnson was robbed in Chicago. They set the precedent and I just wanted every catch after to be officiated the same way. Once you accepted the rule it wasn’t difficult to see. Dez did not complete the process no matter how many Cowboys fans scream. That was the rule. Period.

As for my complaints about Morton. I’m told that this offense is good because of the players, not the OC so he gets no credit for:

“The Lions scored on drives of 98 and 96 yards. The Ravens, who were missing Pro Bowl defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, had not allowed a drive of 95 yards or more since 2001.”

The play selection to close out the half was objective bad.

I think I will say that the O and D have synched with the new coordinators after what appeared to be a process early in the year.  That GB game looked a different team.   They appear to have downloaded the system updates.  Old coordinators were great, new coordinators have value.  We just needed to figure out where they moved some of the familiar features on the homepage.

Gibbs has not been as awesome so far this season but Montgomery has been himself.

I was thinking, this is same old Lions. That has a new meaning now. These are the same old 15-2 Lions.

Ehhh... I dunno. I don't know if I can ever view SOL as a positive. I totally get what you're saying here and I appreciate it, but when the initials are SOL it's always gonna be a negative thing for me.

I'm not sure why everyone jumped off the Lions bandwagon.

Honestly I think it wasn't that much of a snub or anything... The Lions played horrible against the Pack. They beat up the Bears, but... it was the Bears. Then the Ravens are a great team with SB aspirations as well and it was a road game for the Lions. I can't find too much fault in the talking heads picking the Ravens.

I could see them setting up the St Brown catch which I was under the impression only Ben Johnson did. I noticed on multiple runs they had St Brown motion in as a blocker. On that 4th down play, he motioned in, but then broke out into his route. The defender bit on the run and had to grab him.

Just looking back, this really should have been a blowout. The Lions controlled a lot of the play (they were pretty much doubling the Ravens in yards before the final Stat Padfordering drive), they dropped a few INTs and the refs were atrocious with the "behind the line of scrimmage" throw to Gibbs that killed the 2nd drive of the game, the phantom Branch personal foul that essentially gifted the Ravens a FG to make it 28-24, oh right the FG that wasn't actually good. Amazing that they essentially beat the Ravens by multiple scores with all of that stacked against them. Now the schedule doesn't look as daunting as it once did. The Bengals without Burrow and the Chiefs are a bit beat up and just not what they used to be. These will still be tough games and the Lions can win against anybody anyway but the first half schedule doesn't look as tough as it appeared to be a few weeks ago.

"bad" is an understatement; knowing Balt will get ball to start 2nd half, you must eat the clock with 1.5 minutes to go; they should have led 14-7, minimum, at the half.
