Terrible1345 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Obvious lingering concerns with Greene, Torkelson, Torres over the last two weeks but being in and sucking is still far better than missing the playoffs and sucking. 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Despite what the shirts say, I don’t think “October baseball” is ensured for any of the wildcard round teams. Losers in two games would be done by Tuesday night September 30, no? Quote
Edman85 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I do want to win so we get (maybe) the Yankees and it's guaranteed not to be 1pm games during the workday. But with the Hurricane, it looks like I'll be WFH this week and it's easier to stream anyways. Quote

No matter what else happens this season, at least the Tigers have managed to maintain a shred of dignity. Blowing the division AND missing the playoffs altogether could have taken years to live down. 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Hey you guys, Thanks for being a pretty darn cool group. Thanks for helping me get through this. Hopefully we stay busy for a few more weeks. 2 Quote

Absolutely! I said in another thread earlier today that I would have been at least somewhat relieved if we did not win tonight and tomorrow, we back into the playoffs with an Astros loss tonight, and then lose 2-0 in the ALWC series, because I would have much, much preferred that to losing out on the playoffs entirely. But charging into the playoffs with a win on the field—I am more than merely relieved. I am STOKED! 1 Quote

I just have to be honest. I’m ****ing pissed. Just a few wins away from a 1st round bye. Olson getting hurt and Harris not trading for a quality SP was probably the difference. I can't even imagine the hostility towards him if we would have collapsed totally. A wildcard spot only equals a partial collapse. Quote
Shinzaki Posted September 27 Posted September 27 We're in the playdowns...anythingbis possible! Skubal, Mize, Flaherty and Melton..that should be the rotation Quote

It’ll be Paddack for at least 80 or 90 pitches, regardless of how many runs he gives up; then Rainey and Seward (or Seward and Rainey). And if that’s not enough to get us eight full innings—or hopefully, nine—then Kahnle to mop up. Quote
Edman85 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 After the rain delays this year, I'm surprised Daniella is wearing a dark color for the champagne celebration. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yeah, Javy saved the season with that diving catch. 2 Quote
chasfh Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 I regret to inform the negative nellies among us that the Tigers are whooping and hollering in the clubhouse with champagne and everything. I guess they don’t have the good sense like we do to be embarrassed by how they exceeded last year’s win total and made the playoffs. 😉 😁 Quote
lordstanley Posted September 27 Posted September 27 While the clubhouse celebration seems like a bit of overkill, it could be really good for the team. Release the pressure and give them a fresh start for the new season on Tuesday. 1 Quote
Edman85 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 We could get New York or Toronto... If we win tomorrow and Cleveland wins out, we get the 5 over Boston. Quote
