oblong Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Maybe Cora can help a brother out and put a position player in. Does aBoston have seeding implications with a win? Quote
chasfh Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 If we're still down only a run in the ninth, we have got to send up Tork and/or Gleyber and/or Dingler to pinch-hit. Quote

oblong Posted September 28 Posted September 28 That’s dumb. Who’s to say a guy is a P or not? Do players get defined as such ? What’s the criteria for determining if a player is a pitcher? How does it technically work? Like in Ohtani’s case? Couldn’t teams just say the same for others ? Quote

Greene has taken a lot of grief from Tigers fans down the stretch but has anyone noticed Carpenter's struggles the last two weeks. 410 OPS+ Throw in Perez's 362 OPS+ and that is lot of suckitude in the middle of your lineup during an important stretch. IdahoBert Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Did he just swing it to pitch 3 feet out of the strike zone? Hell I could do that. Quote

I guess the brain trust has crunched the numbers and decided they prefer the match-ups if they lose this game. Hard to explain Hinch today otherwise. Quote

chasfh Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 (edited) Catching a break on the Ibanez grounder, first and second one out. Come on, Jake ****ing Rogers?? He better bring a guy in. EDIT: At least he didn't hit into another double play. Edited September 28 by chasfh Quote

They are currently at 14 pitchers. I don't think they need more than 12 in a playoff series. They can probably just drop two of Paddack/ Rainey/ Sewald. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 28 Posted September 28 at least he didn't GIDP, I guess. time for Parker to find himself. Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I was really hoping for a three run home run that was 310 feet away from home down the line. Quote
chasfh Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 I wish we had shown more urgency to score runs, win the game, win the division, and play the wild card series at home. I guess AJ thought it was better to fully rest those guys for Tuesday, and show some trust in the guys already on the field. I kind of get it, and it almost came close to working. It's a bummer, but lemonade, we did sweep Houston on the road in the wild card last year. Quote

It’s a hard pill for me to swallow when Tork talked yesterday about how many beers he was drinking last night yet. Dingler or Torres or Greene or Tork would have been so exhausted by an 8th or 9th inning at bat that tomorrow’s off day wouldn’t be enough to recover? I’m actually ticked off. 1 Quote
chasfh Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 I hope Cleveland lose and get annoyed at backing into winning the division on a technicality, since they'd be tied at the top of the standings with us. Quote
