Shinzaki Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Suarez OPS+ in Seattle is 94 with a 684 OPS...we have plenty of guys that can do that, that's been our problem Quote

We played different teams with a different lineup. He may have hit 20 home runs for all we know. And it's also a total cop out...we didn't get a quality bat 7 weeks ago but he didn't do any good anyway. But...try to improve the team, even if it doesnt work out. The effort was made. Olson went down and we got a bottom feeder teams reject and a 41 year old who was washed up 3 years ago. Good job Harris... Quote
Tiger337 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I thought the game was starting at 1:00. Now I can get more work done. I have no idea whether I'll be able to watch this game on my tv. We'll see. Quote

papalawrence Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Perez is moved up to 3rd in the order, in the midst of a 5-57 slump. AJ must be going on gut feeling today. Meadows to bat 9th. Quote

That's just a really bad excuse, his veteran leadership may have prevented one or two losses, the difference between a wildcard series being played IN Cleveland over it being played IN Detroit. Let's not sign or trade for any player ever because they may not produce better that the utility players we already have. SMH Quote

For better (next couple of seasons) or for worse (3-4 years later) they would have beaten every other offer. 1 Quote

I think they were in a position with the Skubal two-year window where that kind of move might have worked out well. With just one more year of Skubal, I thkink this off-season would be too late for such a move. Quote

Make an offer to Boras and tell him in a week, we'll be looking elsewhere and the offer is gone. But Harris let Boras shop our offer around until he got a better offer. Leaving the Tigers out in the cold without a 3rd baseman. I'm not sure who else was available but at least we could have had a chance to find someone. Quote

4hzglory Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Just now, SeattleMike said: Yeah, he's not the contact guy everyone is clamoring for right now. Bregman on the other hand... Exactly. And Suarez was already trending that way in the last month before the deadline. He was much more likely to be what he ended up being than how he started the year. Keith had a higher OPS and more contact than him while playing as good of defense. Quote

And Bregman would have been a great fit and I wish we he would have signed with us. But he took the shorter term, fairly equal present value contract to go to a better hitting environment. Quote

SMH No..I'm saying that the reality of the situation is that given a chance to produce for an AL contemder with a better overall line up, he failed. So...criticizing the GM for not trading for him seems...odd. Bregman..on the other hand.. Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Stop with all the Bregman stuff. She’s the cheerleader who wouldn’t date us in high school. It’s over. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Cleveland is wearing real home uniforms this time instead of those Cal Ripken league jersey things. They look like a real baseball team. I’m worried. Quote
