buddha Posted October 23 Posted October 23 rasmussen with a stupid, lazy penalty and buffalo scores on the pp to go up 3-2. rasmussen is this year's tarasenko. just a useless player. a net negative on the team. Quote
buddha Posted October 23 Posted October 23 beautiful play by kasper to debrincat and he shoots it right at the goalie's chest. buffalo comes down and scores when edvinsson and asp cant clear the zone. 4-2. Quote
buddha Posted October 23 Posted October 23 appleton gets into it on the boards. rasmussen skates over and does nothing but look tall. they take a run and seider and nothing happens. can we cut rasmussen now? or should we wait til the end of the period? mazur cant be any worse, right? Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 23 Posted October 23 It figures. Go on a great run. Beat the defending champs and Toronto twice. Then lose to the worst team in the league. Didn't you just know this would happen? Quote

Did you see him score the empty netter the other night? Hardly even watched it into the net, turned around with his head down and sort of slunk back to the bench looking like his dog had just died and his bunions were acting up. Maybe the weirdest reaction I'd ever seen in a hockey player that had just iced a game for his team. I guess he wins faceoffs but he still floats around a lot. I'm not going to say anything about how his mates must take him, because I don't know. Maybe they love him for other reasons, but it would seem hard to believe it's for anything he does on the ice for his teammates' benefit. Quote
buddha Posted October 23 Posted October 23 asp continues to struggle. was evident last night. he probably needs to be on the 3rd pair. the problem then becomes who takes his place? Quote

That's the bargain you make when you put someone that young and that green on the roster. They're going to have to get through it and it might be painful at times. The longest active playoff droughts in the Big 4 sports 1(T) - New York Jets - I feel bad for Aaron Glenn, but he's part of the reason this year 1(T) - Buffalo Sabres - who beat the Wings last night 2 - Los Angeles Angels - Don't worry, that stellar comeback season for Rendon will get them there in '26 3- Pittsburgh Pirates - Sad that they have the most beautiful stadium in baseball and the young pitching phenom that they know they're going to lose. I really want them to turn it around, but their ownership just doesn't get it. They don't get it to the point that they took Clemente's number down for a alcoholic soda. That is a stunning amount of ignorance there. 4 - Charlotte Hornets - they've had a miserable existence 4 - DETROIT RED WINGS - For ****'s sake, this is "Hockeytown". Half the ****ing teams make the playoffs. This is beyond bad and even though this team has shown real life early this year, games like last night make you wonder. Remember - two years ago they missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker - they lost two games to the awful Arizona Coyotes. If they had just taken one of those games to OT they are in the playoffs. That's what last night was, that was a replay of those Arizona games. Plus - if Larkin gets hurt, they're screwed. Quote
Shinzaki Posted October 23 Posted October 23 They looked like they were a step behind all night...not the best effort Quote

Have to put JBD up there because there's no other current option. I'm not offering a good option here... I'm just sayin' Quote
gehringer_2 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I think the Wings were prepared for ASP to have some tough games. He has played a grand total of 2 hr and 15 minute of NHL hockey in his lifetime. It's still early for large scale panic...😱 Quote
buddha Posted October 23 Posted October 23 nobody is panicking. but if were looking for lane hutson or quin hughes, he's not that. but its still early and he's not getting sheltered minutes like those two did. Quote

I'd be fine moving on from both of them, I'd prefer Rasmussen stay over Berggren if I had to choose one though. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 23 Author Posted October 23 I have better things to do than watch the Wings throw passes to nobody at the opposing blueline over and over, embarrassing stuff today wow Quote
lordstanley Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Different story on the road, so far at least. 2-0 NYI approaching midway of 2nd period. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Whatever good feelings I had about this team from last week are gone now. They looked awful last night and even more dreadful tonight. Quote
buddha Posted October 24 Posted October 24 what the actual ****? edvinsson looks like ****. kasper looks like ****. asp looks like ****. is mbn actually on the team? we all know rasmussen is worthless. when is your strategy to just throw the puck to no one in the middle of the ice? no one is back checking. no one is clearing the front of the net. what an embarassment.
