Bipolar team.  🤪

Kids these days.

Edit: Watching the highlights, the assist from Copp on Berggren’s PP goal was a great play. And Compher’s tip in showed incredible skill just in redirecting the puck but in manipulating his stick to make sure it was a legal play.

2nd tier playing for all the rookies  - except Finnie.

When was the last time Rasmussen was a healthy scratch?

When your teammate gets run and you just stand there and do nothing  - you're getting benched.

There's no point to rasmussen on the team.  he'll probably stick around because he's on a semi-reasonable contract that has too much term.  but as long as he plays like this, he's useless.

maybe this will be a wake up call to him?  he hasnt been productive since he got hurt 2 years ago during his best stretch as a player.

at this point, he's holding back mazur and danielson.

It's like Mantha all over again but worse. He'll give a good shift or two that shows what he could do, and then disappear again. Hockey is a game where you spend a lot of time at the edge of total exhaustion but hockey players seldom show it. Rassmussen *always* looks and moves like he's already exhausted out there. I try not to accuse players of lack of heart (though Rassmussen has driven me to that on occasion) because you don't know what they are actually going through. In Ras's case, he clearly has a level of skill, but it looks like somewhere along the line he lost the physical capacity to generate the energy needed to play hockey in the NHL.

oh my god I don't want to alarm anyone but Rasmussen just outmuscled two guys on the boards and passed to set up a goal.  it's a miracle.

that's the most frustrating thing about him: we've all SEEN him do it!  but he almost never does it anymore.

Even though the Blues seem like an awful team right now it is always nice to win the first game of a road trip!  Think the broadcast showed its the best ten game start for the Wings since 2010/11 which is cool.

Yikes Seider just looked awful on the Blues' second goal just now, super lazy getting to a puck at the Wings' blue line

Went back and checked, looks like he got benched and didn't see the ice after this.  It was Hamonic - Chiarot or Edvinsson - AlJo/Hamonic the rest of the way.  Shout out for Todd for actual accountability!

Paul Woods noted the missed shifts and was hoping it was a benching not an injury.

I honestly didn't consider an injury.  Could explain the seemingly lackadaisical play but hopefully he just got sat in a game they weren't in a true danger of losing.
