Jaden Ivey assigned to G League's Motor City Cruise as Pistons ramp up rehab for knee

Crazy to think about how little Ivey and Cade have played together in a little over 2 seasons.

Ivey's rookie year Cade played 12 games and had season ending surgery.

Last year Ivey played 30 games and had a season ending injury.

So 42 total games, assuming each one played in those 42.  Not going to go back and count that.  But basically half a season.

Risacher, KP, and Okongwu listed as questionable for Atlanta.

Hawks are in a similar situation as the Pistons. They have three starters out .

Thompson with two steals and a block the last two minutes

Another blah game from Holland. 

Cade with a couple of key hoops down the stretch to ice it. Thompson was big on defense at the end

That was a good win against a Hawks team that has been playing very well. Cade still shooting poorly as he has most of the season but, again, he came up big in the clutch.

Very small sample, but Jenkins might be able to provide what Schroder did last year

2nd of back to back and on the road, vs a team 8-2 in its last 10. Very nice win! And they'll have Ivey back soon. At this time 2 years ago they were in the midst of a 28 game losing streak.

Early injuries has shown what kind of depth we have and it looks great. Once Ivey is back we will up the tempo even more.

Great game and a good test, especially with us on a back to back and travelling.

Ausar was looking a little lost in the first half in his first game back, but was at all-defensive levels in the second half. The play where he just took the ball from Johnson was simply awesome. JB said after the game that Ausar only came off the bench because of a minutes restriction and that, "he's a starter for us."

Jenkins is a real player. He should be the backup PG even when Ivey, LaVert, and Sasser are back. Tremendous find. Looks like we're running 10 deep if everyone is healthy and you've got about 13 guys that could legitimately play. Consolidation move incoming or does Trajan choose not to mess with the chemistry?

Duren has been a beast offensively. His defense is still neutral at best, but at least he tries on that end now. Great rebounding, great hands, and the free throw improvement is huge when you're talking about keeping your guys on the floor in crunch time. Every time he went to the line to seal the game I thought about the fact that Drummond would have been sitting on the bench during a sequence like that.

At this point, Holland could be the odd man out in the rotation.  Jenkins, Stew, Robinson, LeVert will be the first 4 off the bench when they are healthy.  If JB goes 10 deep, #10 would probably be a coin flip between Green and Holland.

Sure, based upon how erratic his play has been, but I doubt they stop giving time to their 20 year old second year prospect that was Trajan's only lottery pick.

and it's also doubly good if your big man can make those late FTs as it's a lot easier to inbound the ball to size against pressure.

I think you get a certain synergy with Holland out there with Thompson. You get a real speed overload. Without his running mate he doesn't seem quite the same.

Maybe.  But JB hammers home the idea of accountability quite a bit.   Hard to do that and play a guy who isn't really earning his minutes.
