There are a lot of players who never look as bad as they are, LeVert always manages to look even worse than he is.

atlanta has a lot of shooting and zero paint defense.  so easy to get layups against them.

I don't think he would pair well with Cade.  Having both of your stars be that inefficient is a bad idea IMO.

I also dislike undersized guard like him and Brunson.  I think they are very exploitable in the playoffs.  You need to be a generational shooter like Steph if you are going to be that size.

they are a flawed team, but a 20-5 team! losses by 3, 3, 4, 4, and one blowout, so they have been competitive 24 of 25 nights. getting the same vibes that we felt from the Going to Work crew, when people were asking, are they really this good? how do you score 142 points with no starter getting more than 15?

Detroit, which has won five of six, had seven players in double figures and 12 with at least seven points, tying an NBA record held by the 2018-2019 Bucks and 2021-22 Spurs.

The schedule and opposition injuries have been very kind to them (and OKC!) but the improvement in Cade's, Duren's and Thompson's play are real and Robinson hasn't been the step back people were afraid he would be so while I don't see them wining 80% the rest of the way it's looking like a fun season. And you have another potential shooter percolating in Ivey. If he can solidify a shooting contribution they'll get even a bit better.

the east is so bad that the pistons have as good a chance as anyone else.

they have a couple flaws that will be exploitable in the playoffs.  robinson is their only real shooter and teams will hunt him on defense.  he tries very hard but he cant stay in front of good players.  brunson and mitchell will get switched on to him and it will be bad.  we've already seen teams adjust to duren's roll game.  ausar's lack of shooting will allow more teams to blitz cade as soon as he crosses halfcourt.  they dont have a legit second ball handler.  teams will want lavert with the ball because all he does is put his head down and run to the basket while everyone else watches.

but if they stay healthy they are better than many teams in other areas.  ivey off the bench gives them scoring depth that others dont have.  a healthy stew gives them interior defense.

what they really need is another ball handler and another shooter.

del's crush trey murphy would be a great addition to the starting lineup but he will likely cost you ivey and probably robinson too.  and then pick up a veteran point guard off the buyout market.

if the Pistons get swept in the finals by OKC, this season will have been a massive, massive success

yeah - we see him step back and think about taking a jumper all the time, but he always changes his mind. Probably working on it in practice but no game confidence. It seems like the super high energy guys often have more trouble getting to that instant of calm needed to get off an accurate shot when they're at full tilt in a game.

Getting to the finals would be incredible in just the second year after winning 14 games.

It depends on what "all-in" means though. I don't think the East is so good that they have to go superstar hunting and gut the team to chase Booker or something. A fringe All-Star like Trey Murphy, or someone similar, could really set them up to the be the favorite right now for presumably far less.

The injuries have a silver lining. It gave the bench starter minutes and experience. Priceless...now they play with confidence.
