Hongbit Posted Tuesday at 11:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:15 PM (edited) ND should be pushing Freeman out the door. It’s only a matter of time before he kills a kid. Freeman himself should want the Steelers. Perfect timing to leave ND since they are now the 2nd tier bitch program in state to IU. They can’t compete in NIL or on the field. Screwball Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Ohio resident, lifelong Steeler fan. Mostly due to living in rabid Browns country. I'm also old, and the early 70s Steelers kicking the snot out of the Browns was really sweet. They run a good organization best I can tell, and have for a long time. Since Chuck Noll in 1969, they have only had 3 head coaches. That's pretty impressive in and of itself. 1 Quote

The Steel Curtain was something in those days after years of horrible teams. My favorite story, Dec 30, 1978. My wife and I had the audacity to get married during the Steelers playoff game against Denver. The Pittsburgh contingent had timed the trip from the motel to the church, barely beating my spouse down the aisle. Then they used white shoe polish to put then final score on our car. Damn stuff never cleaned out 1 Quote

Damn stuff never cleaned out That's what you get for scheduling a wedding during a Steeler playoff game - that's un-American! 🙂 I have a buddy who is a HUGE race fan. His daughter had to move a wedding date because of a race. That's how it's done. Oh, and those years of the Steel Curtain - you had to see it to appreciate it. They flat busted people up. A different game back then. Make the quarterbacks wear dresses said #58. He was the man. It was probably around 2000 they had a ceremony on a Monday night for the 75 team and interviewed either Dwight White or L.C. Greenwood, and asked how they thought they would do in today's game (25 years ago now - and 25 years after). He said "not very good." Why? Cause you can't beat anyone up. 🙂 Edited 9 hours ago by Screwball Quote
CMRivdogs Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago All I really remember is those great Steeler/Raider matches. Since I was living in Virginia then we were shackled with the Washington team. Not that the Hogs were terrible... Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Interviewing Zac Robinson on Thursday. Does anyone with a better memory than me remember if we cast this wide of a net before hiring Morton? It feels like no, but I probably wasn’t paying as close attention. Quote

Knew people who went there when Jack was there. He was my guy, just like Jim Leyland in baseball. They both made a difference in my life in strange ways you might say. On Jack (who follows me on Twitter - how cool is that); He made a statement one time I will never forgot. He was asked about being a dirty player on the football field, or something like that. He replied; "I'll play the game anyway you want to play it, and I'll let you make the rules" For more fun, Goggle up Elvin Bethea and the head slap. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If you Google John Morton right now this is what you get: Quote

I only remember hearing that John Morton was familiar with the Lions offense because he worked here for a couple of years before spending 2 years in Denver. I think he was a passing game coach? I really don't recall any other names mentioned for an OC coach. This hiring seems much more widespread. And I agree that the Lions job is a great opportunity for a coach to possibly advance his career. We have a very good offense in place, with a few tweaks. (OL) Quote
