Announcers fussing that Tigers should be nervous about turning SS over to a 21 year old McGonigle...apparently they're too young to recall a 19-20yr old Alan Trammell.   18 year old Robin Yount.  Etc - I would think with the advanced training that kids would be MORE ready today.

When I say he'll probably start at some point, that means I am assuming there will be injuries.  A team should have 8 viable starters at the beginning of the season.  I think he's one of the 8 along with Melton , Anderson and the top 5.  Melton and Anderson would probably be ahead of him.  A couple of them may start in Toledo.

Agreed. He very well may start in Toledo to keep him stretched out. Or maybe stay up north for long relief. In Hinch I trust.....😆

The opponents are more ready too!  However, the really good ones often start early, so starting at 21 years old is not that rare.

One of the things Dan Dickerson just mentioned is that with the WBC we’ll likely see a lot more of the young guys than we would have otherwise. I’m cool with that.

A young hitter going with the pitch and hitting a single to the opposite field is a glorious sight to see. That's excellent hitting...

I'm glad I'm really only here to listen (for the first time in months) to Dan speaking.

Same.  Family trip to Chicago this weekend.  We’re wandering around the river area, I’m trying to get a few minutes of radio feed just to clamber out of this hibernation we’ve all been in.  To boot, it snowed here last night and I’m expecting to shovel a bit when I get home.  But there was baseball on my radio (phone), so the 30 and windy felt a bit more optimistically warmer in those Dan and Dan moments.

You know how if you have not erased marker from a white board for a while it still kind of sticks and is tough to erase off?  Same science here.

Did you know that if you accidentally write permanent marker on a white board that you can erase it by writing over top of it with a dry erase marker?    As long as you don't wait too long.

Alex Cobb will probably end up pitching for another team and then shutout the Tigers in a deciding playoff game.

How much did the Tigers pay guys who didn't or barely pitched for them because the team knew they were injured when they signed them?

Cobb (0 IP), Urquidy (2.1 IP), Sewald (4.1 IP),   there's another one in there too, isn't there?

Cobb got 15 million for 20 innings of minor league ball.   Sign me up .   I'll do that.
