I always hear talking heads say certain players "tuned heads" during spring training when they get called up because if injury or other needs. I guess this is, or could be, an example? Quote

Tiger337 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Peck is getting a lot of attention this Spring. How good is he supposed to be? I had the impression that he was a future utility guy, but he is not someone to whom I have paid a great deal of attention. Quote

To the untrained eye like mine he "looks" like a shortstop and plays very smart. What does that mean ? Not much but he has momentum and I like his chances to hit enough to stick at shortstop with KMac at second and Rainer at third. Because Defense does play. But nobody's asking for my opinion yet there you have it. 🤔 1 Quote

NorthWoods Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago ....And I don't recall who or where....perhaps Lynn Henning? They made the statement that Peck was by a margin the smoothest fielding IF in the Tigers system. Quote

They made the statement that Peck was by a margin the smoothest fielding IF in the Tigers system. after having the defensive prowess of countless defensive also-rans touted by the Tiger org and media, I've gotten to where I pay almost no attention to what is said about the defensive chops of Tiger minor leaguers. I hope Peck is a good fielder, but I give credence to pretty much nothing that comes out of the Tigers system/Det Media on that score. Edited 16 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote
Tiger337 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago FanGraphs gives Peck a hit tool of 30. His 125/41 K/BB ratio is not impressive. He supposedly has power potential. Quote
tiger2022 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago The Tigers must think something of Peck. He was in A ball most of the year last season and now he's getting some attention in ST. Quote

He's also 24, so he's pretty much at the now or never point - so it could be he's getting a 'last, long, look' driving the decision about whether to keep him or give his spot in the system to someone else with more upside. I still say he's a good SP as a #6 to #7 option. Kinda nice to have him stretched out and waiting. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago The defense on this US team is amazing. Judge looked like Al Kaline throwing a BB to gun a runner out at 3rd base from RF. And Bobby Witt Jr really flashing some leather. Quote
