Deleterious Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Orlando is a great lesson on staying out of the apron. Next season with only 11 guys under contract, they are already in the 1st apron. By the time they fill out their roster they might flirt with the 2nd apron. They will be a first time taxpayer. All while being what? Maybe the 5th best team in the east? You basically have 2 maybe 3 years at that point before you have to break the team up and get back under the tax line. That Bane trade will go down as one of the dumbest trades of all time. Nothing against him, he is a nice player. But he isn't the player you trade away all your future draft capital for while putting yourself into the apron/tax area. If you do, you have to be making deep playoff runs every season or its a waste. Quote
Deleterious Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Not a fan of burning a challenge 2 minutes into the game on a possession change. Even if you win it costs you a challenge and only have 1 left the rest of the game. Quote
Deleterious Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Sometimesi think LeVert just does stuff to see if JB will bench him or not. Quote
Deleterious Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Guys like Trae Young and Ja should watch Jenkins play defense. You don't have to be 6'6 to play respectable defense. Quote
Deleterious Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago If you challenge and they can't tell from watching 10 seconds of replays, just go with the call on the floor. Quote
Hart Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Ron Holland shot 18 percent on three 3's per game in the month of February. Not off to a great start tonight either. He should maybe think about driving and getting to the free throw line more. Quote

Hart Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Just now, Deleterious said: Tom Gores about to donate to the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave so the FBI clears Beasley. It seems like we have gotten more desperate lately. Maybe it's just better competition. You could easily add one offense first guy to this lineup without suffering much on defense. Quote
Hart Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) We work our tail off to cut it to one and then the other team hits two strait threes. When you don't have shooters to respond, that feels like a gut punch. One thing I will say about the Pistons is they never waiver on defense. It's very impressive the effort they give on a nightly basis for an NBA team. Edited 11 hours ago by Hart 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago On pace to make two three pointers this game. Quote
Deleterious Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Robinson has had a rough go of it lately. 0 points with 3 minutes left in the third and had given up quite a few points to da Silva. Quote
Hongbit Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Time for Cade to sit down for 6 minutes and this lead to go away. It’s like clockwork Quote
Deleterious Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago This is the most I've seen the Pistons run in a long time. Quote
Deleterious Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Harris getting his good game out of the way early this month. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago That 2nd half defense was about as good as I've seen the Pistons play all season. Championship caliber defense. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Wow, what a dominating second half, although I’m just looking at the box score. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Duren is a force on the boards and is a top defender but his ball handling is a turnover waiting to happen. Quote
Deleterious Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago His defense in the 2nd half was pretty crazy, even for him. Quote
Hart Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I think Duren needs to add a mid range jumper to his game. Similar to how all those power forwards in the 90's would add a mid range jumper to their game later in their careers. Get started on that right away this offseason. I think it's almost a lock the Pistons will match whatever another team offers and we need him to be more than just a finisher with the salary we will be paying him. He's needs to be like a 22 and 11 guy next year. This was easily his worst game since the all-star break. The stat line was not terrible but he had been dominating lately and I did not see that tonight. Edited 9 hours ago by Hart Quote
buddha Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago as long as the pistons have cade they have a shot. he's almost always the best player on the floor nowadays. top 10 player in the league, maybe top 5. Quote

Every once in a while you get a tease like a perfect swish on a pull-up J from the top of the key against the Cavs. There has to be more in there, right? Quote
Deleterious Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I hope not. Teaching him a midrange jumper would be a bad idea. Never mind it's the least efficient shot in all basketball, It's where your star player makes his living. Don't put another body in that area and crowd his space. It also does zero to alleviate the spacing issues. Duren standing around 10-12 feet to shoot a jumper leaves his defender well within help distance of anyone driving. He needs to be out 25 feet drawing their big away from the hoop. 3 point shot only, do not teach him a midrange jumper. Quote
