I'm not so certain about this "Kerry Carpenter leading off" idea...

I'd rather have McGonigle-Torres 1-2 against righties and Torres-McG 1-2 against lefties.

Not to put any pressure on the kid...

But Carpenter can bat 6th-7th IMO...

Just my 2 cents...

I remember when I was a kid. Maybe 20 games on tv the whole year.

That is exactly why it's so absurd.  We have all this technology which allows us to watch so many games, but they've made it so hard to use.

Broadcast disclaimer by Bob Costas.

He also did the opening, name-checking the Tigers throughout. The so-called perks of an MLB-prodcued broadcast ...

Maybe my sticking with DirecTV Extra Innings with the free mlb.TV add-on was not the geriatric bad idea I hear people tell me it is.

Despite all my bitching about modern TV, I appreciate what an amazing opening day that was.  Historic game for McGonigle,  2 hits and a home run for Dingler, 2 hits for Keith, 6 SHO innings for Skubal.  You can not ask for much more than that.

It's more expensive, but a lot easier.  It wasn't seamless for me for various reasons, but much better that my roku/youtube combo.  I had the combo last year too and it's hit or miss.  Sometimes, the voice control gets me there fast.  Other times, I go in circles.

I’ve had great success with MLB TV over the years. Whenever I’ve had even a minor problem they fix it immediately. Surprisingly good customer service for a call center that probably has a lot of turnover. At least I’m assuming that is the case.

I was surprised at how easy it's been.  $20 a month?   No prolly.

Waiting to see if the audio and video go CONSTANTLY out of sync, like with FanDuel.     I watched on my computer today while at work, so I don't know what the TV experience will be like.

I got it for this year and it was very smooth today

I guess it's a little more expensive, since my all-in cost for Extra Innings through DTV is $175 on the dot. I look online and see that MLB.tv alone costs $149.99. So I would have to consider the marginal cost of $25 as being worth it, and I think it is.

There is no turning back for me.  I dumped two ugly satellite dishes over the past two years.  If I shift back to something convenient, it will be cable.  By the way, speaking of baseball on tv/radio, what kind of satellite radio set up do you have?  If I get it again, I want something as simple as possible.
