Because they are trading down and picking up a 3rd rounder to go down a few spots and get the player they wanted anyway?

That was my fantasy before the draft but they got a good player so no complaints.

steelers reach for a tackle.

the steelers used to be good at this drafting thing.  not for a while.

I don’t think it’s anymore a reach than Tyleik was last year. If your guy is on the board, he won’t be the next time you pick, and you can’t find a trade down… *shrug*

But also they hired Mike McCarthy, so Steelers slander is deserved.

I think the Steelers are more dysfunctional than we know. We may see Tomlin covered up a lot there.

Tomlin would never have signed off on having Styx as the Draft house band.

I don think he just means this year. This is their 3rd OT in 4 years.

Renegade is a staple at Acrisure Stadium. If ya ain't a Styx fan, ya ain't a Yinzer

Theineman to the bears.

dangit.  ever since ben johnson went there to tell them what to do, theyve been a much better run team.

I miss the days when we could fleece an NFC North team for Jameson Williams when they would get a Lewis Cine out of it. And drop 20 spots.

In hindsight that’s got to be one of the biggest trade steals in NFL history.

I do think there is real value in his durability.

Can’t wait until 2037 when he is giving interviews to Justin Rogers about how he got shafted by the Lions.

Nah, he'll be talking about how the Lions took his signing bonus after he retired.

Initial impressions on Blake Miller is that he’s a very safe, unflashy pick.

I like safe. Freeling and Ichenachor (sp?) were flashier, with higher ceilings. But I like the pick as a consistent starter. We’ve got our flash in Sewell, we just need dependable across from him. That’s what Decker pre-2025 gave us. And it’s what I think Miller will give us long-term. It’s never easy to slide into an NFL offensive line, I’m sure there will be growing pains. But I like the pick. It makes us better entering week #1.

Vikings

“The Vikings take arguably the biggest swing thus far by selecting Banks. His 2024 film was electric, showing a highly dynamic and powerful defensive tackle who can penetrate on one play and swallow up space on another. But Banks has broken his foot multiple times since that 2024 season and played only three games in 2025. It's risky to take big players with foot injuries, as those don't often go away. But Banks was a clear first-round (and arguably top-10) pick if injuries weren't considered. The Vikings are taking a big swing on an extremely thin position after losing both Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen this offseason. If this pick hits, their line takes a huge leap -- as do their playoff odds. -- Ben Solak”

I hope they are not locked into an edge with the next pick. They could use help at CB, LB and safety also.

Board is falling decently for them so far, but lots of picks to go and can change quickly.

Several solid man corners and edge rushers that fit the Lions style still out there.

With the 28th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select… Dianna Russini???

No need. They already have her.
