Fortunately Jansen only threw 11 pitches last night closing out the game so he will be available again today. I think my app is buggy though because it does not give Skubal the win, and as far as I know we don’t have a pitcher named Lopez. Gonna look into it.

What drives me nuts:

 

McGonigle has like an 8/9 pitch at bat

then Torres pops out on the first pitch

Riley draws a 4 pitch walk

then Tork pops out on the first pitch

 

If he’s not throwing strikes consistently to the guy in front of you, then try to see more than 1 pitch in your AB….

I think hitters should swing at any pitch they think they can hit hard regardless of pitch count.  In your example, Torre and Torkelson are two players that typically work the count, so it's not like they have a habit of swinging at everything.  They saw pitches they thought they could drive but guessed wrong.

I don’t disagree, but if you’re going to swing at the first pitch after those types of ABs, hit the ball hard.  Otherwise it feels like they weren’t really looking for the pitch they swung at.

I’m having a bad feeling about this game. Riley strikes out runners on second and third.

I’m driving up to Donnelly Idaho to open up my friends’s place in the mountains to make sure the winter didn’t destroy anything there. I’m kind of glad that I’ll run out of cell phone towers making radio coverage of the game, impossible so I’ll be forced to contemplate the scenery up there instead.

Of course if something good happens I’ll miss it and I hope something good does happen.

Starting pitching is good...offense is decent. Not great on the margins.
