At least here in Big Shoulders, it is. Personally, I don’t think a softball should be allowed to travel 350 feet in the air. But everyone digs the long ball now, ad spot and social clubs need to stay in business, so … 🤷🏻 Before I even gave up playing, our league had gone to the lower flight ball - the diamonds we played on weren't big enough the high travel balls. I didn’t know about two piece bats. But, if I don’t get back into it now, it’ll be tougher next year. Quote

I play left field at Brands Park where there is a tennis court maybe about 275 feet away from the plate. In the mid 2000s, I never once saw a ball get hit into the courts. Nowadays, there’s at least one a game. It’s beyond ridiculous. But CSSC encourages it because it keeps teams signing up and paying their $1,400 team fee to keep playing. What can you say? It’s a business. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago That play where McGonigle went to 2nd base (and ended up scoring) on that throw to 3rd base was a heads up, veteran type-like play. He plays way above his experience and age. Amazing. 1 Quote

They used to use what were called red-dot balls, which were flight restricted balls that you could tell had a bit of give when you held it. Nowadays, softballs are as hard as hard balls. Plus, I know some guys are using BSER bats even tough they’ve been outlawed for over a decade, but most umpires are as clueless about that as they are about the throw-out-of-bounds rule. I don’t like it, but what am I gonna do? Quit? As if. Quote

Held up at first but when he saw Texas trying to throw down the runner at third, took the unprotected base at second. Then scored on the next at bat. Kevin has good field vision, too, because he went when he saw the shortstop abandon second and also saw the second baseman was nowhere near the base. Quote

It's the opposite of an LTS, releases come 2'ce/yr and updates every day. But Linux updates so painlessly, even the full release updates take less than maybe 1/2 hr. TBH, I probably still wouldn't advise someone to use linux if they are not open to learning how to maintain it. It's not particularly hard but you have be willing to do a searching when you have an issue and a little typing to fix it. OTOH, when stuff is broke, linux developers fix it FAST - usually a day or two. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago May we never see .500 or under .500 again this season. I knew the White Sox would be better, but not this much better. Quote
