Can Hinch just put Colt Keith in the lineup everyday instead already wrting him off as a platoon player at 24?  

I know Hinch has man love for McKinstry but let's find out if Keith is a legit hitter or not

what does platooning have to do with Keith vs McKinstry? they're both lefties.

well, as crap as this team is going right now...my daughter just got nominated for an acting award for Northern Virginia HS theater programs.  So, there is that.

I don't know.  Up and in after two HRs.  He had 45 strikes to 15 balls thrown, so it's not like he was wild.  I think the Story reaction is what did it.  Had he just gone to 1B, I bet Valdez remains to throw more batting practice.  I'm not blaming Story, I might have reacted the same way.

but McKinstry hits lefties slightly better than righties   L/R  BA .238/.229    OBP  .307/.296   OPS  .678/.676

And I agree about Colt Keith.  He's your second-hottest hitter this year, let him play.   Colt is .250 BA vs. Lefties.  Not that bad.

I kind of feel like when you suck like McKinstry sucks, does it matter that you suck against both lefties and righties equally?

yeah - I don't know what Keith has to do to get a shot to play everyday - hit a few HR I guess. Hinch does love the long ball  - not without good reason. He's had a total of 7 AB against LHP this season, 1K 1H.

There were always series the Tigers played during the Leyland years where they were streamrolled by the A's or some other team in the first game and they figured it out and made corrections.  Let that be the reason for the mediocrity of some of them, please.
