IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Are they miking up players in the field? Is nothing sacred? Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 It takes Cease a lot of pitches, but he strikes out the side and holds them scoreless in the first. Quote
Hongbit Posted July 15 Posted July 15 What the holy hell is going on. Why are they doing this now Quote

Sports_Freak Posted July 15 Posted July 15 MLB and Fox are determined to make this a 3 1/2 hour game. Just play.... 1 Quote

Tenacious D Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I think the AL is going to petition to keep Tigers off the All Star roster. 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I’m usually terrified of a relief pitcher in the ninth but given that I’m assuming there are still a stable of good guys to close this out I can be a lot less worried than usual… Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 What a pleasant game. I missed about half of it by going to a party, but it really is great seeing the best players in the world. There is something to be said for that and I’m glad that this game will not be resolved by a stupid ass home run derby. It feels like a real game. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 And Baker gives up a single all we need is one out just one. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Hey Mike Schmidt looks pretty good. He didn’t get fat like everybody else. Quote

The paucity of options really focused your attention on those games that were televised. Well, something’s lost but something’s gained in living every day. 1 Quote
oblong Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I would have lost a $100 bet that Steve Carlton was still alive.... i don't know why I thought he passed. Quote

The paucity of options really focused your attention on those games that were televised. The sweet spot for me was when there were a few cable channels (mostly Atlanta and New York Yankees for me) and ESPN had a bunch of games on every week. I also wouldn't trade what we have now, but baseball did feel more special when there weren't so many games on and access to highlights any time you want. It is overwhelming now and take it all for granted. Quote
