Made no sense. I could see a 7th inning stretch break but 5th inning?

I thought the kids on bikes and fireworks were cool but just don’t get whey they did it in the 5tg

Fox wants to get as many commercials in as they can. A long, long game makes them more money.

I’m usually terrified of a relief pitcher in the ninth but given that I’m assuming there are still a stable of good guys to close this out I can be a lot less worried than usual…

What a pleasant game. I missed about half of it by going to a party, but it really is great seeing the best players in the world. There is something to be said for that and I’m glad that this game will not be resolved by a stupid ass home run derby. It feels like a real game.

I have contemplated this very point and while I would not trade away the chance to watch 162 or so Tigers games to go back to 40 plus an NBC Game of the Week, I do miss the special feeling of seeing other teams on those NBC games as well as the All-Star Games and October ball. The paucity of options really focused your attention on those games that were televised.

Well, something’s lost but something’s gained in living every day.

Just about the same size;

Man, this kid has to be on cloud nine.  Opening Day roster, contract extension, all star in his hometown complete with a rousing cheer from his hometown during the introductions, meets his idol.  Soak it in, Kevin.

The sweet spot for me was when there were a few cable channels (mostly Atlanta and New York Yankees for me) and ESPN had a bunch of games on every week.  I also wouldn't trade what we have now, but baseball did feel more special when there weren't so many games on and access to highlights any time you want.  It is overwhelming now and take it all for granted.
