I don’t think that’s the case.  The team has no link to the company. It was bought by Henry’s grandson.

I want to think current ownership and leadership are not jag offs.

technically true of course, but still, the owners of the team are still major shareholders of Ford family preferred stock. I think it's safe to assume they are still pretty tuned into the team never doing anything to dent the Blue Oval since they know people outside SE Michigan probably make no distinction between the WCF branch and the rest of the Ford business.

Pure speculation on my part: The divorce William Ford Jr. had to drive between Ford and Firestone might have disgruntled his mum Martha Firestone who decided the team should go to Sheila rather than another one of the men in the family.

Good results so far.

In my readings of auto history the women were always pushed aside.  They were to be seen and not heard.  Meaning... the spouses.  Martha's generation.  They had to sit back and watch the men play around on them and host the parties and pay attention to the social hierarchy.  Based on that I don't know if it's about Firestone as much as "the girls know what we're doing too and it's our time.  The team is legally mine and you've got another job your dealing with.".

I knew someone who worked in the offices.  When Sheila took over they literally went down the halls pointing to people and firing them on the spot.

I had heard on one of the pods or morning radio when Terry Foster saw Martha showed up at the Lions facility with the sunglasses on she was going to wreak havoc.   I don't know if he said it at the time but I thought it: it was like the "man with no eyes" from "Cool Hand Luke".

well no doubt WCF Sr was about as old-school/old-boy as they came.

Just my guess but I don't think Martha had to do any 'pushing' to get WCF Jr out of the picture because I always got the impression he never wanted to be in it with the Lions to being with, but had to humor Pops when he was alive because Sr wanted to groom Jr to take over the team.

I mean any theory's as good as the next but Jr had been around the team for a long time in what appears to be more that just symbolic.... then she takes more, puts the daughter in charge, and we get what we get.  Personally I am buying my theory.

that makes sense. Don't go against the grain but damn, pops, I'm busy over here and you are our largest single shareholder.

I Have a memory of some kind of falling out between Sheila's husband and Jr.  I think he was Jr's chief of staff at one point then was relegated to Then Henry Ford for work.

Pursuant to the bolded quote, I have occasionally wondered why young women allow themselves to become mistresses to powerful married men. What is their endgame? Do they believe they can actually steal the man from the wife and marry him themselves? There is so much in reportage and even pop culture that confirms that almost never happens that they can't seriously believe they have a good chance, do they? Or perhaps it's, they figure their youthful great looks are going to last only so long so they are going to trade on those looks as long as they can and build up so sort of nest egg before their value as an ingenue sex toy collapses? Or do they not have any endgame at all, live day to day on the fly without thinking ahead, get the money today while they can, and let the chips fall where they may tomorrow? I'd love to find any article that discusses this but I am coming up dry on it.

Anti-zionism is too far, but singling out every person who identifies as Trans isn't?

This reads as though Loomer is practically spitting out the word “Jew”.

All the kids are co-owners still, Martha is chair and Sheila is principal owner.  The other three kids are listed as vice chairs.  No idea how many the other three are involved now, but I got the same feeling with WCF Jr that he wanted to focus on Ford.

I swear I remember hearing that Martha gave the kids the option of deciding who should run the day to day stuff and Sheila was voted by the siblings.  That could have simply been the public spin though.
