Democrats and Never Trumpers need to develop their own Project 2029. Face it America is broken. All norms have been shattered. We can't count on the courts to help fix it and without major landslides, which are unlikely to happen, relying on Congress is a joke.

Develop a plan and run on it. There needs to be a New Fair Deal

Yeah, so in 2020 we had a candidate who literally had dozens and dozens of very detailed, very specific policy proposals on how to fix this country and improve life for the average, working-class person and their family. From climate action to healthcare to housing to infrastructure to transit this person laid it all out on the line. In-fact, this person's campaign slogan was quite literally "I have a plan for that". Instead, America rejected her as too academic, too liberal, too wonky, and too unlikable.

Maybe if the party stopped relying on or hoping for a" savior" with a plan they act like a left of center Heritage Foundation, basically a think tank, to formulate a blueprint for all candidates to run on.
The problem is that getting Democrats to agree on anything is like trying to heard a Cub Scout Pack after they've had their snacks

From the JVL piece. Check out the comments as well, if you can

Point is: The next liberal president will have a choice. He will either blow up the banana plant/disco and start building widget machines again at great personal cost, or he can shut down the banana plant/disco, but leave it intact and use its facilities to make a few widgets by hand.

And then hope that the manager after him decides to keep making widgets instead of flipping the banana/disco switch back on.

Someone, somewhere in the democracy movement ought to start thinking about this stuff now, because the reality is that beating Trump, or Trump Jr., or JD Vance in 2028 will be the easy part.1

Dismantling the authoritarian shadow state will be much harder. It will require wisdom and tremendous political willpower.

Except her plan wasn’t feasible. She kept saying Biden could eliminate student debt with the stroke of a pen and that’s not true.

The thing they’re getting wrong is Project 2025 is not popular. Trump distanced himself from it. Dems don’t need a project 2025, they need a cult leader.

BUT, the country needs media reform.  NOW!

When taking the first question in his press conference today, JD Vance calls on some guy.  His question started out like this "There are two key democrat lies....."  What a complete ****ing joke.

I really have no idea where this belongs but need to share it. Tim Miller and Ken Burns in conversation. A lot of it is about his upcoming documentary on the American Revolution, a few asides. Some thoughts about the state of our country, a splash of baseball as well.

Take some time and enjoy

I enjoyed most of that.   Burns is that annoying type of person who grows up in Detroit but becomes a Red Sox fan.  He's otherwise good.

I grew up in Boston but became a Tigers fan... does that balance it out? 😉
