ausar is an ELITE defender. like one of the best in the league. duren is a bad defender. whatever he brings on offense by being tall and jumping high when he is fed by his elite passing point guard does not surpass what ausar brings in value on defense. i like duren, but he is replaceable in a way that ausar is not. both ausar and duren have to be surrounded by floor spacers because neither of them can shoot, but to me ausar brings more overall value because he is an elite lock down defender and creates offense off that skill. duren for $18m? cool. $20m? sure. $25m? sketchy. making as much as cade? gtfo.

They are specifically defending him by packing the middle..they aren't doing that as much with Stew out there. One of the areas he improved in this year is his ability to facilitate from the high post down by either making an extra pass on the interior or kicking it out. He's the team's best rebounder..and I don't just mean statistically..and he makes the shots he takes and draws a lot of fouls. He the converts them at a high rate. He lead the league in true shooting %.... I like Ausar..but he's an even more "flawed" player than Duren in that he can not shoot...at all. I want to keep them both, but let's not Pretend that Ausar isn't seriously hampered offesnively

Initial impressions on Blake Miller is that he’s a very safe, unflashy pick. I like safe. Freeling and Ichenachor (sp?) were flashier, with higher ceilings. But I like the pick as a consistent starter. We’ve got our flash in Sewell, we just need dependable across from him. That’s what Decker pre-2025 gave us. And it’s what I think Miller will give us long-term. It’s never easy to slide into an NFL offensive line, I’m sure there will be growing pains. But I like the pick. It makes us better entering week #1.

I miss the days when we could fleece an NFC North team for Jameson Williams when they would get a Lewis Cine out of it. And drop 20 spots. In hindsight that’s got to be one of the biggest trade steals in NFL history.

I do think there is real value in his durability. Can’t wait until 2037 when he is giving interviews to Justin Rogers about how he got shafted by the Lions.
