I think your need to look down on and go after people who have had their lives destroyed as if they did something wrong is just a bit rude and tone deaf. Not every house in a beach area is an oceanfront mansions. Many are trailers and manufactured homes that do not require one to be wealthy to live in. I don't get that mentality. Blame the victim. Call them names. Nice. Why aren't you down there price gouging bottled water?

It costs money to evacuate. There were hundreds of thousands of residents to evacuate and only a few thousand shelter spaces. Not all were for those who are disabled, not all are for those who have pets. It sounds easy to say, go somewhere. Where do they go then? How many have oxygen tanks or walkers or wheelchairs, in addition to memory, cognitive, incontinence and other health issues? They're supposed to hop in their car and drive 300 miles? Also, up until the night before, Tampa was expected to be "ground zero". Not everyone has thousands or even hundreds of dollars or a car or place to go. I thought the judgmental assholes were put in their place after Katrina? Guess not. If you truly cannot imagine, consider yourself fortunate.

If charging wern't an issue, would you buy an electric car? My wife and I are retired, and haven't driven farther than 100 miles from our house for many years. For us, th edecision was "yes." We charge in our garage overnight, or even less often. Her car has 250 minles or range and mine has 300. I can't tell the difference in my electric bill. Meanwhile, I have no fuel injection, no muffler, no cooling system, transmission, and probably several other things I don't know about. I have gained a heat pump, but now I have my car producing hot or cool air by the time I get to the end of my driveway.

a note on flores: miami did add a left tackle and tyreek hill, but they also changed the offense to make it more tua friendly and there are no reports (yet) about internal strife like there was when flores was the coach. i think flores comes from the belichek tree and almost everyone from that tree has had a reputation for being a hard ass sob who does all sorts of questionable things and has no modern man management skills. patricia. mcdaniels. o'brien. weiss. everyone except romeo crennell has had a hard ass attitude and being a royal jack ass about it, trying to emulate the great bill bellicheck. i think there's a lot more to flores' failure than "stephen ross is a jerk."
