The lightning-in-a-bottle that would be required does not appear in my forecasts. However, bring up a crazy hitting Torkelson, Parker Meadows or whoever (so that's 3 hitters who are suddenly shifting our offensive fortunes) and we would have a shot. Maybe they need to trade for that though. That does not seem like something this management/ownership group would do. Maybe the Illitch family with the Tigers are trying to make the Ford family feel better about the 1963-2023 shame by beating that record of perverse futility?

Who remembers when the Tigers blew a 7-run lead in the 9th against the Angels in late August of 1986. Willie Hernandez gave up a grand slam with 2-outs and the Tigers lost 13-12. They ended up getting swept in a 4-game series, which essentially ended their season. Thankfully for Hernandez no Twitter.

Until the other team stops swinging at pitches then pour it on.

The Tigers recently blew a 7-run lead to the Blue Jays. If they were up 15-0 in the 8th I understand throttling it down. Otherwise pedal to the metal.

Perez stole 2B with an 8 run lead. The Dans said something about it being odd, but also bringing up that it was only the 3rd inning. Heck yes, pour it on. Dig into that opponent’s bullpen as much as possible to weaken it for the next game.

I think the idea that Scott Harris is avoiding making trades for All-Stars right now, and is not signing All-Stars to long and expensive free agent contracts right now, because he is somehow afraid to do the job, or even that he has nefarious intent to undermine the organization, is asinine on its face and not at all worth entertaining.

Or maybe we shouldn’t be looking to dolls of any type for inspiration of military duties. Or listening to anyone who thinks that we should.

The Tigers had plenty of changes the past couple of years and they’re getting better, so, going in the right direction.

Well, it would be cooler if I knew the pitcher was doing something extraordinary, but if you no-hit this team the way its playing now it should go in the books with an asterisk.

They are 3-7 since winning on June 4th. In the 3 wins, they have scored 30 runs; In the seven losses, they have scored 15 runs. Carpenter injury and Tork failure are huge issues obviously.

A waste to have used Holton and Foley today.

The Tigers’ IF coming into the season was locked at 1B, 2B, and SS. 3B was going to be a mix. Heading into today, of course the most productive IF position for the Tigers (in terms of bbref WAR) has been 3B.

I do not want to be no hit. I am purposely avoiding this game because when I don’t pay attention to it, they have cloud bursts of runs occurring. Hopefully, that’ll work today.

Their stats are almost the same as last year but overall offense is down in baseball so their wRC+ is better this year. They are getting more value out of their baserunning this year. Performance like Javy Baez skews the stats as well. Excellent numbers with runners in scoring position, horrendous otherwise.
