  1. I went through the exercise over the weekend, and the only guys who are must-add's this offseason are Liranzo and Lee. Throw in a reliever like Summers and your Jake Miller's of the world. The crunch isn't too too bad. I still wouldn't push McGonigle. There's really no need.

  3. Rain is still west of Minneapolis. I'm in south mpls and it's overcast, but not wet. I'll link radar. Supposed to be thunder and rain in pockets. Maybe it will miss downtown. 5. Speaking of goalies, I was at the local rink today and saw goalies galore! If Yzerman was there he may have signed a couple. Funny, of all my years around the sport, this is first time I recall stumbling upon a goalie camp. Anyways, it’s a neat facility, 8 Rinks, Canucks used to practice there, and this time of year many Vancouver area NHLers and prospects use it to get in some on-ice workouts prior to heading out to their team camps. Celebrini has been there several times this month, there was an Oiler and a Lightning player or prospect there today but I didn’t recognize them.

  6. I'd need to see another bad outing or so to agree with your take on Morton. If you look at his las 10 starts or so, his last start was the aberration. You can't look at his season long numbers.

  7. I don't think you can make definitive comparisons across eras with pitchers. When you compare guys with 200 IP with guys like Newhouser, Lolich and McLain who had close to 30 CG and over 300 IP, It's apples and oranges. I am not saying those guys were better, just that it was a very different set of circumstances. You can say that those pitchers couldn't do that in this era where every pitch is thrown with full effort and you'd be right, but if they were confined to 7 inning starts, they would have had much better rates than they did. The question is which pitcher dominated his own era the most? I think Skubal, McLain and Verlander and some others were all incredibly dominant in their best seasons.

  9. ha ha. THat's where we stayed 10 years ago. Our last vacation where all of us stayed in one room. I remember parking was crazy. If the lot was full we had access to one like 2 blocks inland but I never felt right leaving it there. The drive in was.... horrible.

  12. I’m slowly leaning towards the idea that Riley is just a “good” player and not great. I don’t know if it’s him selling out for power or something else, but the K rate and whiff rate are bad, the BB rate is not good, his baserunning isn’t impressive, and his defense looks better than it actually is. He also has been prone to major slumps this year, which he’s able to offset with torrid hot streaks. I’d just like to see the consistency in his at bats stick throughout most of a season even if it means he’s not hitting 30+ HRs. He has regressed in a lot of categories on baseball savant YoY that is a bit concerning.

  14. Flores left last nights game with an injury. FB was said to be so slow it registered as a change up. Didn't even retire a batter
