    This Bauer call came right after a caller that asked about Austin Meadows. Dickerson, paraphrasing here, "hoped he found health and happiness in his life" in a seemingly empathic tone. Then comes the Bauer call and the tone flipped quickly.

    Yes, that was my impression of Bauer before whatever happened. I don't know enough about the case. Sounds like a lot of he said she said as far as I know. I guess what surprised me is how absolutely emphatic and dismissive Dickerson was about it. I wonder if that's his personal feeling, or if he's in the know of the Tigers' position and is throwing it out there, or maybe its both? Or, like you said, maybe he's doing MLB's PR.

    I wanted Imanaga. That’s probably the only big ticket item I really wanted. I don’t think Canha was on a radar, but I like the acquisition. I had hoped Chapman would last late (which he has) and sign for a short term deal (which he might). I knew Urshela was available and didn’t really care much for him. But $1.5M for one year? Sure, why not. The risk/reward between he and Chapman (unless he signs for some absurdly team friendly deal) based on the contracts won’t compare.

    Rumor is the B10 and SEC are looking for multiple automatic bids to the playoffs. Expansion from 12 playoff teams to 14 could occur in 2026.

    Yes, kind of. He played 4 seasons in college and entered rookie ball in 2019 at the age of 22. 2020 was COVID. Since then, he has been around the age of his competition within the league (AA/AAA) and done reasonably well I guess. One thing that jumps out to me is that his BB/SO improved from AA to AAA.

    This is probably true. However, that 100 MPH is going to be better served later on in the regular season than late February.
